Job Description

ECS is seeking a Sr. Policy Analyst to work in our Falls Church, VA office.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Policy Analyst with proven experience in federal policy analysis, legislative tracking, and translating policy directives into actionable plans within federal agencies. The ideal candidate will have 12 years of hands-on experience monitoring legislative activities, interpreting policy impacts, and guiding agencies through implementation strategies. A background in cybersecurity policy is preferred but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and analyze congressional activity, including hearings, legislation, and regulatory changes, and draft regular written updates to portfolio leadership team.
  • Provide concise, real-time analysis of policy shifts affecting federal agencies.
  • Interpret federal policies and translate them into clear, actionable implementation plans for agencies.
  • Conduct impact assessments on new policies and regulations.
  • Engage with stakeholders across DHS to ensure alignment with policy requirements.
  • Represent the organization in policy discussions, working groups, and strategy sessions.
  • Support agencies in aligning policies with cyber regulations and best practices.
  • Write content that provides ECS point of view on cyber-related policy trends.

Required Skills

  • 12+ years of relevant federal policy analysis experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of federal policy-making processes.
  • Experience monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on legislative activities.
  • Strong research and analytical skills to break down complex policy issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to develop strategic recommendations based on policy trends.

Desired Skills

  • Background in cybersecurity policy or experience working with federal cybersecurity initiatives.
