Elekta, Inc. is seeking a healthcare and reimbursement policy professional to work with our colleagues across the company in developing and executing the Government Affairs, Public Policy and Reimbursement’s team strategies that support business objectives and further the company’s purpose in helping people have access to the best in Cancer Care.
Responsibilities
The healthcare and reimbursement policy role assists in the development of conducting research and analysis on policy proposals and providing subject matter expertise on specific issues within the individual’s portfolio. Below are the roles and responsibilities for the role:
- Creates and implements strategic and tactical recommendations to ensure optimal outcomes and market access for Elekta’s products, particularly relating to reimbursement for radiosurgery and radiotherapy (focusing on coverage, coding, and payment).
- In collaboration with the Government Affairs and Policy team, develop position papers, talking points, meeting summaries, policy briefs, fact sheets, and presentations for the company’s senior executives on health and reimbursement policy issue areas.
- Lead comment letter(s)/RFI development process in response to legislative proposals and RFIs by engaging business lines to form positioning and drafting comment letters to CMS/other healthcare federal and state government agencies with support from the Government Affairs & Policy team.
- Review radiation therapy related reimbursement literature and Federal Register publications to evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of adopting new reimbursement systems and/or changing or updating existing systems.
- Work cross-functionally throughout the company to foster the development of market access capabilities by educating key internal stakeholders and aligning with reimbursement strategies to ensure plans are aligned with business strategy.
- Provide strategic advice to Elekta’s senior leadership on the current reimbursement environment in the U.S. market and other global markets as needed, anticipated changes to payment policy, and market access risks.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key government payers, such as Medicare and Medicaid Advantage.
- Represent Elekta on healthcare policy and reimbursement issues before professional societies, trade associations, and other external organizations.
- Use strong written and verbal communication skills to communicate with internal and external stakeholders on subject matter areas in a concise and understandable way.
- Apply strong analytical and critical thinking skills to understand complex information and synthesize it for internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested by supervisor and/or other managers within the company.

Qualifications
- Must have at least 5–7 years of working experience in healthcare reimbursement policies.
- Prior experience working with public and private healthcare plans is required for the role.
- Prior experience in delivering high-quality, data-driven, and effective written and oral communications to internal and external stakeholders.
- Prior experience working in Radiation Therapy (RT) and/or Oncology is helpful but not required.
- Must be a self-driven professional with demonstrated ability to initiate and drive processes and to work on solo projects and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred (MBA, MPH, MS in biology or chemistry, or related field).
The Healthcare Policy and Reimbursement position will be based in Washington, D.C. At this time, Elekta, Inc. employees are required to work from their office locations 3 days a week.
