## Government Relations (Director / Senior Director)
APV is seeking a senior government relations leader to build and steward high‑trust relationships across Capitol Hill and help inform the organization’s congressional engagement strategy.
This role is focused on relationship development, strategic insight, and navigating the evolving bipartisan landscape. The Senior Director will engage closely with Members of Congress, senior staff, and committee stakeholders to understand legislative dynamics, surface emerging opportunities, and support APV’s mission of advancing pragmatic, cross‑partisan progress.
This is a high‑autonomy, high‑impact role for someone who brings strong political judgment, institutional fluency, and a collaborative, entrepreneurial approach to government relations.
## What You’ll Do
– Build and maintain senior‑level relationships with Members of Congress, senior Hill staffers, Committee staff, and leadership offices.
– Strengthen APV’s presence across key caucuses, committees, and networks relevant to APV’s work.
– Lead APV’s congressional engagement efforts, including setting priorities, managing outreach, and shaping Hill‑facing strategy.
– Identify and support opportunities for bipartisan collaboration consistent with APV’s mission.
– Represent APV in high‑level Hill meetings, briefings, and policy settings.
– Provide guidance to APV leadership on Hill dynamics and evolving legislative considerations.
– Coordinate with external partners, advocacy organizations, and coalitions as appropriate to advance shared objectives.
## What We’re Looking For
– 5–10+ years of experience in congressional offices, committee staff, leadership offices, political operations, or government affairs.
– Deep familiarity with the dynamics and structures of Capitol Hill.
– Established relationships across a significant segment of the House or Senate ecosystem.
– Background in government relations, multi‑client lobbying, or senior Hill staff roles strongly preferred.
– Ability to move quickly, operate independently, and build something from the ground up.
– Strong political judgment, discretion, and strategic instincts.
– High EQ, low ego, entrepreneurial spirit.

## Compensation
