## SUMMARY
UnidosUS seeks an executive communications professional with a steadfast commitment to elevating the priorities of the 62 million Latinos in the United States. As the Executive Communications Senior Manager (Senior Manager), they will implement communication strategies that increase public visibility of the President and CEO of UnidosUS in service of the organization’s strategy to grow the wealth, health and power of the Latino community.
Reporting to the Senior Director, Communications and Spokesperson and working closely with the Office of the President and CEO, the Senior Manager will work collaboratively to create messaging, draft talking points and speeches, develop written and video content for social media platforms, and grow social media reach for the UnidosUS President and CEO. They will also play a pivotal role in coordinating UnidosUS crisis communications, aiming to ensure the Latino perspective is inserted into the public dialogue during high-stakes media moments.
The ideal candidate brings experience staffing and crafting strategic communications for an elected official, C-suite executive, or other senior principal and possesses knowledge of the challenges facing Hispanic/Latino communities in the United States. By driving awareness of UnidosUS’ strategy and its policy positions and programmatic priorities among elected officials, funders, partners, Latino communities, and other key stakeholders, the successful candidate will shape a future in which all Latinos in the United States are empowered to define and achieve their own American Dream.
**Location:** This is a hybrid position based in Washington, DC. In accordance with UnidosUS policy, employees are expected to work onsite two days per week, with Tuesdays designated as a common in-office day. Additional in-office days may be required as needed.
**Salary:** $90,000–$105,000

## Essential Functions
### Executive Visibility & Thought Leadership
– **Executive communication strategy** — In collaboration with members of the Marketing and Communications team and the Office of the President, implement an executive communication and thought leadership strategy that increases public visibility of the UnidosUS President and CEO in service of UnidosUS’ key priorities.
– **Message development** — Partner with the Office of the President and internal subject matter experts to develop messages, produce briefings, and draft talking points, remarks, and speeches for press events and external engagements for the President and CEO that align with the organization’s message framework.
– **Video production** — Manage end-to-end video production for social platforms, scripting, shooting and editing short-form videos.
– **Social media strategy** — Work with the social media team, Senior Director and/or the Vice President, Communications and Marketing to implement a social media strategy for the UnidosUS President and CEO, develop original content, oversee content scheduling and posting, and report on results.
– **Media relations** — Work with the media relations team, the Senior Director and/or the Vice President, Communications and Marketing to triage inbound interview requests and secure media coverage for the UnidosUS President and CEO.
### Rapid Response & Crisis Communications
– **Crisis coordination** — Coordinate executive rapid response/crisis communications situations in collaboration with the policy and communications leadership as well as the Marketing and Communications team.
– **Latino perspective integration** — Work with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure that the Latino perspective is inserted into the media and public dialogue when there is breaking news, current affairs or crises related to UnidosUS priorities and impacting the Latino community.
### Measurement & Evaluation
– **Success metrics** — Measure annual success metrics for executive communications, including media coverage, social media impact, thought leadership writing, and speaking events.
– **Data gathering** — Gather data and qualitative feedback to provide reporting, evaluate impact and adjust strategy accordingly.

## Required Qualifications
– **Strategic communications experience** — 5+ years of experience in strategic communications or media relations, with experience staffing and writing executive communications for a highly visible elected official, political appointee or nonprofit leader.
– **Political/policy communications** — Experience with political, policy, and election-related communications in government, nonprofit or agency environments.
– **Crisis communications** — Experience with crisis communications with varied public and political constituencies.
– **Social media collaboration** — Experience with social media platforms and best practices, and willingness to regularly collaborate with UnidosUS’ social media team to achieve shared goals.
– **Bilingual skills** — Spanish/English.
– **Travel flexibility** — Occasional travel, estimated 10–20%.
– **Latino community knowledge** — Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of the Latino community.
