Government Affairs and Public Policy Benchmarking Project

Client: Major global healthcare company

Assignment: Benchmark organizational design, resource allocation, stakeholder management, performance measurement and innovative public affairs practices of leading companies.

Work Performed: Using a combination of benchmarking data and executive interviews with other large multinational companies, the Council helped the client develop a stronger public affairs strategy to be more efficient with its resources and more effective in its advocacy-focused interactions.


Global Government Affairs Benchmarking Project

Client: Major global healthcare company

Assignment: Analyze best practices and models for global government affairs management and public policy development.

Work Performed: Using existing research, benchmarking data and executive interviews with other large multinational companies, the Council produced a customized report on best practices and recommendations for improving the client’s global government affairs management and public policy development strategies.


Public Affairs Management Benchmarking Project

Client: European subsidiary of global healthcare company

Assignment: Assess knowledge/experience of global communications and public affairs team, issues management processes, stakeholder mapping processes, collaboration and alignment with business priorities. Benchmark company against other multinational companies of similar size and industry.

Work Performed: Using a combination of benchmarking data, an internal survey tool, and executive interviews with senior leaders at the client company, the Council completed an audit of the client’s public affairs function, analyzed its strengths and gaps, and provided recommendations for elevating the company’s global public affairs work to a more advanced level.


U.S. Government Relations Organizational Structure Benchmarking Project

Client: Major global energy company

Assignment: Benchmark organizational structure against those of large global companies in energy and other sectors. Advise on ways to improve internal collaboration and present findings to senior management.

Work Performed: Using benchmarking data, interviews with client company senior executives and research on models of organizational design, the Council advised the client on ways to improve internal collaboration in order to make its public affairs function more effective.


U.S. Government Affairs Capabilities Study

Client: International business association

Assignment: Conduct online survey of member companies to determine government affairs capabilities and compare results to benchmark group from 2017-2018 State of Corporate Public Affairs survey report.

Work Performed: The Council conducted an online survey of the association’s membership, analyzed the data and developed a written report that identified gaps and made recommendations for how the association can better serve its membership base.
