Now more than ever, it is crucial public affairs practitioners understand how to analyze and communicate with data. But without a background in statistics, many lack the skills and confidence to maximize the use of data in their work. This course is designed to provide the foundations of data analysis for those who have no formal training in data analytics.
Participants will learn how to interpret quantitative data, common pitfalls in data analysis and how to avoid them, best practices for communicating with data, and useful sources for data in public affairs. They will come away with new skills for being better consumers of data and guidance for communicating it clearly and accurately.
During this interactive session, we will:
- Review key concepts
- Reinforce learning with practical examples
- Work in groups to practice using case studies
