**Position Overview**

As the Director, you will manage a team in developing and implementing the department’s community outreach, corporate social responsibility, and philanthropic efforts. Working with the Vice President of Community Engagement, you will develop and guide the implementation of a strategic plan for the Community Relations department and Chicago Bulls Charities that aligns with and supports the team’s civic and business goals.

The ideal Director will be collaborative, creative, and passionate about positively impacting the Chicagoland area. They will be a strong leader who will take ownership of projects and work effectively as part of cross-functional teams. They will be both a big-picture strategic problem solver and someone who is always ready to roll up their sleeves. This team leader will be responsible for guiding and motivating a staff of four and accountable for ensuring initiatives are completed on time and on budget with goals met or exceeded.

### Job Responsibilities

As the Director, you will represent the Chicago Bulls Community Relations team both internally and externally. Your intentions should always be geared towards elevating and sustaining levels of departmental innovation, creativity, and efficiency that will enable the Bulls and our partners to have a significant impact in the community. Additional responsibilities include:

– Support the development and implementation of initiatives and cause marketing campaigns that align with and support the philanthropic and business objectives of the team and our corporate partners.
– Develop and maintain community engagement strategies and ideas that incorporate industry standards for integration into corporate partner pitches and team brand initiatives.
– Actively work with departments across the organization to explore and develop ways to incorporate community engagement to help support their campaigns, initiatives, and goals.
– Participate in new business pitch development and presentations.
– Ensure the Business Development and Partnership Marketing teams are aware of the most current community outreach and charitable campaigns, ideas, and offerings.
– Work closely with internal resources to create and implement a comprehensive, effective measurement system to track and evaluate our progress in achieving civic goals and commitments.
– Mentor and manage a team of 4 full-time staff that focuses on program development and activation, fundraising, and player programs.
– Represent the Chicago Bulls and Chicago Bulls Charities at various external events, programs, meetings, and other functions throughout the year.
– Work with a cross-functional group to develop creative and impactful content and distribution plans that connect fans and supporters with the outreach efforts of the department.

### Qualifications

The perfect candidate will have high degrees of professionalism, sensitivity, and integrity, combined with excellent attention to detail, organizational, and interpersonal skills (oral and written). You could be a potential match for this role if you have a strong mix of the following:

– A minimum of 8 years of experience in social responsibility, cause marketing, social impact, or a related field.
– A solid base in navigating community outreach and non-profit sector dynamics (preferably).
– Prior staff, budget, and operational management experience.
– Passion for using business resources to elevate and enrich the community.
– Proven creativity, innovation, and a strong ability to identify market opportunities.
– Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing timelines and ad hoc requests.
– Keen attention to detail, strong conflict resolution, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
– Demonstrated ability to earn the confidence of a wide range of internal and external constituents and to network within a professional, corporate environment.
– Ability to multi-task and remain organized and motivated both individually and as a team member in a fast-paced, performance-based environment.
– Possess an uncompromised ability to protect the confidentiality/privacy of others and company documents and records.
– Ability to contribute to and build a balanced, productive work environment with positive relationships and follow through on duties as assigned.

The Chicago Bulls offer workplace flexibility. Full-time remote work is not an option for this role, and interested applicants should be currently located in or prepared to move to the Chicagoland area. This role will require a flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings and weekends as required.
