Description:Position is responsible for providing legislative support and coordinating state and local congressional office interactions for the Missiles and Fire Control business area, and developing a comprehensive and integrated legislative strategy and action plan. The selected candidate will establish and maintain relationships with cognizant FL, TX, and other key state congressional committees and their professional staff members. The selected candidate will establish and maintain relationships with constituent congressional offices and lead government relations at the county and state levels. This person will also provide advice and counsel to senior leadership on state congressional issues and policies, coordinate visits by congressional members and staff to company facilities. and establish and maintain relationships, primarily with the Grand Prairie,TX; Orlando, FL; Troy, AL; and Camden, AR city officials, especially the Mayors, City Managers and Economic Development Directors, in relation to topics relevant to LM. The selected candidate will also maintain coordination and information exchange with Aero, Space and RMS local Government Affairs reps, as appropriate, in Texas, Florida and offsite locations. He/she will cultivate a strong working relationship with company level business development, government relations, and communications organizations.
Basic Qualifications:
Extensive experience in legislative affairs either for the Executive Branch or in a similar defense industry position.
Strong communicator, and results driven individual.
Substantial knowledge of all or most subject areas listed above.
Must have the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
Desired Skills:
Top Secret / SCI Clearance and experience with Congressional and relevant Executive Branch communities.
Individual that can operate and adapt in a fast paced and high-profile environment.
Individual that can lead legislative strategies for multiple focus programs for the corporation.
