The Role
ICI seeks a dynamic Government Affairs Director to advance state‑level advocacy and policy engagement. This is a high‑visibility position where you’ll shape legislative strategies, build bipartisan relationships, and represent ICI before governors, legislators, attorneys general, treasurers and key influencers.

What You’ll Do
Drive strategy: Develop and execute state legislative and regulatory priorities that advance ICI’s mission.
Influence policy: Represent ICI and its members in meetings with state officials and external stakeholder.
Monitor developments: Track emerging issues and provide actionable insights to senior leadership and member firms.
Collaborate: Work cross‑functionally with legal, research, and communications teams to ensure alignment and impact.
Member coordination: Organize and support member working groups, issue briefings, and state-level advocacy efforts.
Lead outreach: Build and maintain a strong network across state capitals; manage external consultants to amplify reach.
What We’re Looking For
Experience: 5+ years in state government affairs, lobbying, or legislative consulting—financial services experience preferred.
Expertise: Deep understanding of state legislative and regulatory processes; ability to navigate bipartisan environments.
Skills: Exceptional communication, strategic thinking, and relationship‑building capabilities.
Education: Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus.
