  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with ASG clients, lawmakers, agency staff, think tanks, advocacy groups, and other key influencers.
  • Represent ASG clients in meetings, hearings, and coalition convenings.
  • Provide timely, high-quality policy updates and advice to clients, policymaker partners, or internal leadership.

Communication & Advocacy

  • Help clients draft talking points, memos, issue briefs, testimony, and other advocacy materials.
  • Translate complex policy issues into clear, concise, and compelling content for policymakers.

Strategic Guidance

  • Advise ASG clients and internal leadership on state-level dynamics, political risks, and opportunities for engagement.
  • Support campaign-style efforts to build support for specific policy proposals.

  • Self-motivated, responsive, and able to anticipate client needs
  • Able to manage multiple projects, timelines, and stakeholders with efficiency and tact
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator—able to brief diverse audiences on complex topics
  • Strategic thinker who can offer insight and guidance on legislative and advocacy approaches
  • Comfortable with frequent travel, including overnight trips leading up to and during legislative sessions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with a wide range of domestic policy issues (e.g., healthcare, education, regulations, labor, etc.)
