Government Affairs & Public Policy Manager
Vertical lift industry pioneer Bell is seeking an exceptional government affairs and public policy practitioner to join its Communications and Government Affairs team. This position will be responsible for planning and executing government relations and public policy strategies at the local, state, and international level.
The Government Affairs and Public Policy Manager reports to the Director of Global Government Affairs and Public Policy and will have opportunities to work on issues in U.S. state and local governments as well as internationally that impact Bell’s products and business. You will need to combine creativity and intellectual rigor with organizational skills to manage various campaigns, projects and initiatives.
You will handle our various agendas with policymakers inside and outside government on development programs such as Future Vertical Lift and On-Demand Mobility, as well as supporting current production aircraft and general business needs. The role will support efforts to secure policy/regulatory outcomes, mitigate reputational and regulatory risk, create positive reputational opportunities and build strong relationships across a broad range of issues at the local, state and international level.
This demanding and high-profile role will require flexibility and the ability to navigate U.S. and international governments and audiences at varying levels. The successful candidate will be able to work independently yet closely partner and work collegially with other Bell subject matter experts and leaders. The position requires experience either working with or in a federal, state or city government, trade associations/ Non- Government Organizations (NGO’s), Corporate Government Affairs, Industry Government Affairs or politics as well as an ability to grasp complex technical and policy issues.
- Establish and implement strategies to communicate policy positions to key government constituencies.
- Work with elected officials, trade associations, industry partners, NGOs, and other third-party stakeholders
- Monitor current and forthcoming local, state, and international policy issues of importance to Bell
- Advocate before state and municipal offices, legislatures and agencies on behalf of Bell; this may include international elected bodies and officials and NGOs as needs arise
