Career Opportunity: Government and Public Sector Advisory Director
We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Government and Public Sector Advisory Director to join the team in our Bethesda office.
CohnReznick is a hybrid firm and most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered hybrid, which means team members are expected to be thoughtful and intentional in how they create opportunities for in-person collaboration. While the cadence of in-office presence is determined at the team level, our professionals are encouraged to be in the office/together in person on average 3 days a week.

Your Role
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead and manage advisory engagements with government agencies, state agencies, or eligible entities who are recipients of federal loan programs, federal grant programs, or other forms of federal financial assistance.
- Engage federal networks to build and maintain relationships and cultivate business development opportunities at the federal, state, and/or local levels.
- Support lead generation and sales pursuits, including developing responses to RFIs, RFPs, and other proposals under the direction of a Lead Pursuit Partner.
- Provide technical support, compliance and reporting, and program management expertise and direction to engagement teams.
- Develop and implement program budgets.
- Negotiate grant-management performance metrics, as applicable.
- Resolve complex policy issues.
- Collaborate with clients to optimize performance and manage risk.
- Lead the implementation of client engagements.
- Report to an Engagement Partner on client engagements and, in terms of sales generation, support Lead Partners in helping to pursue, win, and generate at least $500k in pursuits.
Your Experience
The successful candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Economics, Political Science, Regional Planning, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience working in government-funded community development programs, disaster recovery, economic stabilization, neighborhood stabilization, economic intervention, or other large-scale federal programs.
- Proven track record of overseeing large federal financial assistance programs, including federal grant programs, federal loan programs, or other financial assistance programs.
- Former experience as a federal employee is required. Former experience as a former federal executive is highly desired.
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to resolve complex policy issues and develop program budgets.
Preferred Experience (any of the following):
- Experience working on large-scale federal intervention programs at agencies such as the U.S. Treasury Department, the U.S. Department of Commerce, or the Small Business Administration; or,
- Experience with HUD Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG); or,
- Executive-level experience in disaster recovery grant programs; or,
- Familiarity with Section 108 Loan Guarantee Program, lower Manhattan Redevelopment Programs, and/or Gulf Coast Restoration Programs.

In Maryland, the salary range for an Advisory Director/Managing Director is $200,000 to $325,000.
