POSITION SUMMARY:

We are looking for a highly motivated, entrepreneurial, Government Relations Manager to support our growing and ambitious government relations function.  This role will be very action oriented, and you will be involved in crafting legislation to build a new industry. You will do this by helping to craft and pass legislation and build relationships  with federal and state policymakers. The ideal candidate will have experience lobbying, working in a legislature or agency, in financial services, and/or startups.  This is an exciting opportunity to help build the public profile for high growth, high impact company.  As we expand our offerings, your ideas and contributions will make an immediate impact.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 – $150,000 + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.

This is a remote position.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

• Work as part of the government relations team, managing internal clients and external consultants to build a positive profile and reputation for the company. 
• Directly engage with relevant policymakers on the state or federal level to tell EarnIn’s unique story of customer service and empowerment, and manage contract lobbyists to do the same. 
• Work with our customers to create impactful messaging campaigns about how our products improve their lives. 
• Look around corners and creatively solve problems 
• Craft and refine lobbying campaigns for state and federal advocacy campaigns
• Other duties as assigned.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

• 5-7 years of policy or lobbying experience experience, with previous experience on capitol hill or a state legislature, or a financial regulatory body
• Financial services, start up, or consumer advocacy experience a plus
• Strong written and oral communications skills
• A collaborative style and the ability to work with little supervision
• A deep thinker who can communicate clearly under pressure
• Empathy with our customers and ability to communicate that to policy makers
• Passion for exploring new opportunities and tough challenges with a sense of ownership and urgency, high energy and enthusiasm
• Experience with PAC management and compliance a plus 
• Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time
• Familiarity with Google products (Docs, Slide, Sheets, etc) preferred
