Clark Hill PLC is seeking a Manager of Government Affairs to work in the firm’s advocacy subsidiary, Clark Hill Public Strategies (CHPS). The position is in‑person based in the Washington, D.C. office. A JD is **not** required for this position.

## Primary Responsibilities
### Client Advocacy (70% of time)
– **Attend and lead lobbying meetings** — Participate in and guide meetings with federal stakeholders.
– **Schedule lobbying meetings** — Coordinate and manage meeting logistics.
– **Attend strategy meetings with clients** — Support client engagement and planning.
### Policy Analysis (15% of time)
– **Draft update memos for clients** — Summarize key developments.
– **Track policy developments** — Monitor legislative and regulatory activity.
– **Draft relevant policy documents** — Prepare public comments, legislative/regulatory language, enforcement policy, and related materials.
### Miscellaneous (15% of time)
– **Attend internal team meetings** — Participate in internal coordination.
– **Draft thought leadership & firm alerts** — Contribute to external communications.
– **Develop new business** — Draft proposals, prepare client pitches, and attend networking events.
– **Complete administrative tasks** — Assemble packets, maintain tracking documents, and support internal operations.

## Position Overview
This position is ideal for a driven individual with experience in the federal policymaking process who wants to strengthen their policy advocacy and analysis skills. Clients span sectors including agriculture, energy & environment, health, manufacturing, technology, and trade.
You will primarily:
– Schedule, attend, and often **lead lobbying meetings** with federal stakeholders (in‑person and virtual).
– Attend and occasionally lead **client strategy/check‑in meetings** to discuss news, share CHPS work, and plan next steps.
– Build strong interpersonal relationships and demonstrate excellent soft skills.
You will also support the CHPS policy analyst team by:
– Tracking and summarizing legislative and regulatory developments
– Writing public comments and public testimony
– Drafting proposed regulatory and legislative language
– Conducting research, analysis, and other writing tasks
Additional responsibilities include internal meetings, thought leadership drafting, business development, and administrative support. Strong writing skills—both clear/concise and highly technical—are essential.
**Compensation range:** $70,000–$90,000.

– **Working knowledge of U.S. federal policy processes** — Especially Congress.
– **Excellent interpersonal and soft skills** — Comfortable liaising with clients and government stakeholders.
– **2–5 years of relevant public policy experience** — Preferably federal-level, especially Congressional office experience.
– **Ability to process and summarize complex regulatory developments**
– **Commitment to providing up‑to‑date client information**
