## Corporate Communications Overview

Corporate Communications is responsible for internal and external enterprise communications, including creative design, digital communications, employee communications, public relations, social media and member firm communications. The Manager, Social Media oversees social media content strategy and execution across FINRA’s social media channels and reports to the Vice President, External Communications.

## Essential Job Functions

### Strategy & Planning
– Set FINRA’s social media strategy in alignment with organizational goals and priorities to engage and inform key stakeholder audiences and enhance public understanding of FINRA’s value and work.
– Execute social media strategy with minimal oversight from the Vice President, External Communications.
– Build and maintain an editorial calendar.
– Leverage key performance indicators and other data to optimize and refine content strategy.

### Content Creation & Brand Management
– Translate message strategy and financial content into compelling, high‑quality social media content consistent with FINRA’s brand.
– Independently create strong, engaging social media plans across multiple platforms and coordinate review and approval processes.
– Collaborate with Creative Services and subject matter experts to develop consistent, meaningful content.
– Ensure content is grounded in audience insights, data, platform usage and trends.

### Community Management & Engagement
– Monitor social media engagement (“social listening”) related to FINRA and proactively manage FINRA’s response.
– Manage a high volume of incoming social media messages and exercise strong judgment when responding to community posts to protect the corporate brand.

### Analytics & Performance Optimization
– Apply best practices to maximize channel performance.
– Use KPIs and other data to recommend optimizations to content strategy.
– Coordinate with the data analytics team to deliver regular reporting.

– Stay current on industry best practices, emerging trends and platforms.

– Collaborate in‑person and virtually in support of FINRA’s mission of investor protection and market integrity.

## Education & Experience Requirements

– Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
– Minimum eight (8) years of experience developing social media strategy and managing execution.
– Knowledge of the financial industry and/or financial regulation required.
– Proven experience editing and writing.
– Knowledge of social data and analytics tools, including Meltwater and Sprout Social.
– Excellent editorial judgment, writing skills and ability to capture FINRA’s voice.
– Ability to produce copy quickly and manage tight deadlines and multiple priorities.
– Confident, collaborative and communicative; thrives in a fast‑paced environment.
– FINRA Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) certification or acceptable equivalent required upon hire or within 16 months of the assigned SIE training cohort.

## Working Conditions

– Hybrid work environment with defined in‑person requirements.
– Highly dynamic, fast‑paced environment with multiple high‑visibility priorities.
– Occasional non‑traditional hours as needed.
– Occasional travel may be required.

## Salary Range by Location

**CO/FL/TX:** $97,700 – $176,100
**IL/PA:** $107,500 – $194,100
**MA/MD/VA/Washington, DC:** $112,300 – $202,500
**NY/NJ:** $112,300 – $211,400

FINRA complies with all state and local pay transparency laws. Actual compensation is based on factors including experience, education, skills and market considerations.

## Important Information

FINRA’s Code of Conduct imposes restrictions on employees’ investments and requires financial disclosures related to FINRA’s role as a securities regulator. Employees must disclose all brokerage accounts they maintain or control and authorize broker‑dealers to provide duplicate statements. Accounts must comply with investment restrictions, including disposing of securities on FINRA’s Prohibited Company List or obtaining a waiver before employment begins.

Employees may only maintain securities accounts at firms that provide an electronic data feed to FINRA and must move accounts within three months if needed.

Employees must execute FINRA’s Employee Confidentiality and Invention Assignment Agreement and comply with the company’s nepotism policy.
