Washington, DC – Hybrid model: In office Tuesday & Wednesday, remote Monday, Thursday & Friday
Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- First drafts of correspondence (i.e., invitations and thank you letters to Congress/Agencies)
- Updating Government Relations Tracking Dashboards, Club advocacy interactions, Federal Legislation Tracker, Congressional champion tracking, and team goal trackers
- Managing Congressional mass emails and communications
- Appropriations request support
- Provide policy research, monitor legislation, run bill reports, etc.
- Meeting support/scheduling/notes internally and with consultants and coalitions
- Advocacy event support in DC, including National Days of Advocacy and Summit for America’s Youth:
- Managing congressional meeting scheduling process
- Youth of the Year travel management
- Packet planning and assembly
- Project management of the event
- Meeting feedback and responses to congressional offices
- Support for other Government Relations special events (Briefings, Alumni or Partner events)
- Material drafting, editing, and production
- Tracking RSVPs and other planning support
- Onsite support
- Support Advocacy special events like congressional recess engagement and Native Week of Advocacy, including deck creation, tracking of visits, and reports to the field
- Compile weekly press clips
- Newsletter drafting and design
- Intern recruitment & onboarding
- Supporting Action Alert drafting, design, execution, and tracking utilizing Advocacy software
- Office manager responsibilities for DC office, including being the point of contact for all Government Relations inquiries
- Government Relations team updates to BGCA intranet and internet sites
- Administering Government Relations training logistics, including trackers, tech, email reminders, and follow-ups
- Administratively support our Youth Advocacy initiative, including:
- Organizing and updating Club list, contacts, etc.
- Preparing communications to update TLC Cohorts
- Updating TLC Cohort projects and transferring data from reports to data tracker
- Tracking budgets and providing requested reports
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in education, youth development, sociology, training, evaluation, or related discipline with a strong background in consultation, training, data analysis, and organizational development.
- Minimum of two years of experience, including one year of project management responsibilities that include designing and leading multiple, simultaneous projects
- Advanced level of analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
