## **Senior Manager, Federal Government Relations**
Are you passionate about shaping federal transportation policy and advancing the civil engineering profession? The **American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE)** is seeking a strategic, collaborative, and politically savvy **Senior Manager, Federal Government Relations** to represent ASCE before Congress, the Administration, and key federal agencies on transportation infrastructure issues.

## **What You’ll Do**
As Senior Manager, Federal Government Relations, you’ll serve as a key advocate and policy leader for ASCE. You’ll:
– Represent ASCE in a non‑partisan manner before Congress, federal agencies, and the Executive Branch on transportation infrastructure issues
– Develop congressional testimony, policy statements, regulatory comments, and correspondence to federal policymakers
– Serve as the primary staff liaison to ASCE’s Transportation Policy Committee
– Monitor, research, and analyze federal transportation, aviation, ports, waterways, and infrastructure funding policies
– Lead ASCE’s participation in public policy coalitions and stakeholder partnerships
– Coordinate engagement between ASCE leadership and federal agencies
– Support policy development initiatives through research, writing, and publication of policy materials
– Contribute content for Society publications and ASCE’s website

## **What You Bring**
– Bachelor’s degree required; degree in public affairs, engineering, or related field preferred; Master’s degree a plus
– 5–7 years of professional experience in government relations, public policy, lobbying, congressional affairs, or association management
– Strong understanding of the federal legislative and regulatory process
– Knowledge of transportation infrastructure, public finance, ports, waterways, or related policy areas
– Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including experience drafting policy documents and advocacy materials
– Excellent research, organizational, and relationship‑building abilities
– Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines
– Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and online policy research tools

Based in Washington, DC, this position requires engagement with Congress, federal agencies, industry coalitions, and ASCE leadership. Periodic travel as well as participation in committee meetings and events is required.
This position offers **hybrid work‑from‑home flexibility** within the DC/Metro area.
