Salesforce Public Affairs Senior Manager Position

Salesforce is seeking a seasoned Public Affairs Senior Manager to expand our strategic policy communications efforts and enhance our presence with policymakers and policy influencers.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Communications & Campaign Planning:

  • Develop and implement strategic campaign plans to effectively convey the company’s mission, values, and achievements.
  • Craft compelling narratives that resonate with diverse audiences, ensuring consistency in messaging across various channels.
  • Lead all aspects of our research program to drive data-driven policy decision making and messaging.
  • Work deeply with corporate communications to drive our public policy narratives in the media, particularly in the US and EMEA.
  • Build external-facing collateral and amplification materials for the Global Government Affairs team and company executives.
  • Execute media partnerships and paid media campaigns.
  • Work with the AMER Government Affairs team to build a grasstops employee program.

Issues Management:

  • Lead the development of crisis and issues communication plans and act as the primary point of contact during challenging situations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to manage and mitigate reputational risks.
  • Scenario plan to ensure Salesforce is prepared for potential challenges and opportunities.

Strategic Relationships:

  • Cultivate meaningful relationships with third party policy partners.
  • Identify new partnerships that drive our public policy objectives while staying true to Salesforce values.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Communications, Public Relations, Political Science, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 10-15 years of relevant experience in public affairs, government relations, or a related field.
  • Proven success in developing and driving comprehensive public affairs strategies.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory environments and legislative processes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate sophisticated issues in a clear and concise manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with key partners, including government officials, media, and community leaders.
  • Experience in crisis management and the ability to navigate high-pressure situations.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead and inspire a team.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% of your time.
