Senior Manager – Public Affairs, Corporate Communications, and Regulatory Compliance
This Senior Manager level position would report to the Senior Director – Public Affairs, Corporate Communications, and Regulatory Compliance and be based in the Houston Corporate office. The role would support the Corporate and Pipelines & Terminals business units, as well as B.A.E.S.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Government Affairs programs at Buckeye:
- Manage and direct all State and Federal level lobbyists to support key company initiatives.
- Manage and participate as the primary company contact in all industry trade associations such as AOPL, TXOGA, and TPA as well as others.
- Act as the chief liaison between the company and all Chambers and other local or State-level organizations.
- Engage with local, state, and federal officials and their offices to support Buckeye’s broader business strategies and objectives.
- Develop and implement stakeholder engagement plans and strategies to support large capital projects.
- Support smaller capital projects and operations at the local level on State, City, and local permitting requirements and challenges. This includes air permits, ROW permitting, and Fire Department siting requirements.
Key Skills Required:
- Strong communication skills:
- Ability to develop professionally written documents and content.
- Role will be required to speak confidently in public forums and in front of large audiences on controversial subject matter.
- Role will lead and coordinate teams of Buckeye SME’s and external consultants in the development and execution of programs.
- Ability to proactively, effectively, and efficiently communicate the status of projects and programs to Management.
- Experience and a thorough understanding of how our governments work at all levels. A Candidate with experience working in the State or Federal Government is a strong plus.
- Midstream energy experience would be highly preferred.
- Organization:
- Ability to effectively execute multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously.
- Ability to lead and coordinate the activities of various teams, including status meetings, etc.
- Integrity and professionalism:
- Role will act as a spokesperson for Buckeye in various forums and must reflect Buckeye’s core values at all times.
- Empathy and respect will be key communication and personality traits for this individual.
- Bachelor’s degree required with 8-12 years of experience.

You must work independently and be able to exercise tact, discretion, and professionalism when dealing with internal and external customers, and when handling sensitive and confidential information.
