Government Affairs Senior Manager Responsibilities
The Government Affairs Senior Manager is responsible for providing day-to-day oversight and coordination of key Government Affairs functions.
- Maintain responsibility for oversight of lobbyist consultants in multiple states.
- Assist in tracking Government Affairs issues that will potentially impact the company’s strategic and business interests, including legislation/regulations, policy issues, key meetings, and special initiative strategies.
- Assist in lobbyist state compliance processes.
- Simultaneously manage multiple complex projects.
- Coordinate internal feedback and input from Regional and Franchise/Business Leadership on legislation and policy development.
- Conduct research on legislation, regulations, policy, and political issues.
- Coordinate policy development and management for top policy areas.
- Engage with consultants to develop robust advocacy strategies.
- Assist Senior Director with strategic planning.
- Drive communications and outreach efforts, including:
- Assist Senior Director in developing outreach messaging strategies.
- Refine playbooks for enhancing Quest’s presence in specific states or regions, and support execution of the same.
- Support Senior Director in partnering with other internal departments to amplify and influence messaging.
- Assist in drafting internal Government Affairs communications, including newsletters and progress reports.
- Drive other communications and outreach efforts as directed.
- Assist internal teams and external consultants to coordinate Quest PAC contributions, compliance, and recordkeeping.
- Organize large-scale meetings, conferences, webinars, and other functions as necessary; assist in the preparation of presentations and meeting materials.
- Maintain accountability for meeting timeline targets as set forth by management or clients.
- Enhance expertise through education, following current political/government events, interaction with consultants and the Government Affairs team, and assignments.
Supervision Exercised
Project Teams, external consultants, and Lobbyists.
Education Preferred
B.A. or Equivalent Experience.
Work Experience
10 years of working experience in a professional environment; 6+ years of government affairs, government, or policy experience preferred.
