AGC is looking for a dynamic addition to our team as a Coordinator, Political Affairs. This position will play a pivotal role in advancing our government relations efforts. From coordinating the day-to-day operations of AGC’s political action committee (AGC PAC) to organizing congressional jobsite tours and providing critical advocacy support, this position offers a unique opportunity to engage with policymakers, industry leaders, and advocacy professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day administrative operations of the AGC PAC.
  • Provide administrative support to the Senior Director of Political Affairs for all advocacy activities, including those related to AGC PAC and the Construction Advocacy Fund.
  • Serve as the liaison between the AGC national office, AGC Capitol Hill Townhouse, and congressional fundraisers.
  • Organize and execute the planning of congressional jobsite tours for AGC staff, chapters, and members.
  • Work with the Public Affairs Team to provide media support for government affairs activities, including Member of Congress tours at member sites and during Congressional hearings where AGC members/key staff testify.
  • Monitor state and local construction policy trends.

Requirements

  • Results-oriented with high attention to detail, strong multitasking abilities, and a proven ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with policymakers, fundraisers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Understanding of PAC operations, campaign finance regulations, legislative process, and political advocacy strongly desired.
  • Experience planning and executing meetings, tours, or fundraising events with a strong attention to detail preferred.
  • Ability to monitor and analyze state and local policy trends affecting the construction industry required.
  • Experience with PAC management systems like Quorum PAC, customer relationship management databases like Fonteva/Salesforce, and advocacy tools like Quorum Federal/Grassroots preferred.
  • Proficiency in MS Office 365 required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Communications, or related field preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in political affairs, government relations, PAC management, or a similar advocacy role required.
  • Experience with trade associations, nonprofits, or Capitol Hill offices is a plus.
