Basic Qualifications

Job Description
Director for Political Affairs and State Government, LMGA. Responsible for Executive Office of the President, state and local government affairs and legislative support for Lockheed Martin programs and corporate business issues supporting the Vice President for Political Affairs and State Government. Coordinate state and local government relations strategy with Lockheed Martin business area government relations teams.

Develop and maintain relationships with the political leadership in the White House in coordination with other elements of Lockheed Martin Government Affairs, Governors, State and Local elected officials and Members of Congress in key Lockheed Martin states and work with them to educate and advocate for Lockheed Martin programs.

Monitor and advocate for legislation, amendments, hearings, and policies in state capitols where Lockheed Martin has significant interests. Support key economic development incentive pursuits for key programs and facilities in coordination with Lockheed Martin Properties and Lockheed Martin business areas.

Coordinate visits by Governors, State and Local elected officials and Members of Congress and staff to Lockheed Martin facilities. Participate in and support grassroots and grasstops efforts for key programs. Cultivate productive working relationships within Lockheed Martin business areas, the aerospace & defense industry, and business trade associations.

This position is an on-site position in Arlington, VA with limited telework opportunities.

Desired Skills

Held a senior legislative position in the federal government and/or state government

Active Top Secret clearance

Ability to work and respond in a high pressure and fast paced environment

Individual has to be a self-starter, a team player, and possess keen analytical skills

Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five-day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time Off benefits.

Work Schedule: 9×80 every other Friday off
