Position Overview
The Chamber’s Center for National Security Policy is a dynamic and growing part of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. We are looking for an entrepreneurial team member to join us and support the center’s active policy areas: cybersecurity, space, defense, and AI and quantum security. We execute our work through a number of policy committees, working groups, and leadership councils, including the Cybersecurity Working Group and the Cybersecurity Leadership Council, the Space Industry Working Group and the Space Leadership Council, the Defense and Aerospace Council, and the Federal Acquisition Council. These groups are made up of Chamber members representing a broad spectrum of the global economy.

The successful candidate will work across policy teams and support multiple executives in day-to-day operations and special projects. Project management skills and the ability to keep projects on task and on time are critical for success in this position.

Responsibilities
Support internal and member events by scheduling and coordinating meetings, managing meeting room reservations and guest list development, drafting and sending invitations, helping build program content, greeting visitors, and conducting setup.

Draft briefing materials and letters, conduct initial research, and manage follow-up.

Handle select day-to-day communications with member companies, internal executives, and external partners.

Work with other Chamber teams to update center-related content on the Chamber’s public-facing websites and communications.

Support the team in member relations activities, including database management and invoicing, and coordinate these efforts with other Chamber groups.

Respond to routine inquiries and refer matters to appropriate staff.

Maintain calendars, handle travel arrangements, and process expense reports.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 1–2+ years’ related experience in scheduling, administration, operations, event management, fundraising, member relations, or a related field.

A positive and professional attitude and the ability to handle confidential information and exercise sound judgment to deftly interact with individuals at all levels.

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills to plan and execute logistics for meetings and conferences.

Strong writer and editor with exceptional interpersonal skills.

Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and deadlines, while maintaining a sense of humor.

Creative and strategic thinking, with an emphasis on member service and a team-focused approach.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.

Familiarity with various AI applications/tools and CRM platforms is a plus.

The salary range for this position is $50,336.00 to $63,000.00. The actual salary paid for this position will vary based on market data, an applicant’s qualifications, relevant degrees, certifications, and other factors. Our full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including health care, vision, dental, retirement, and paid leave.
