Summary
The Vice President serves as the Global Electronics Association’s head of U.S. Government Relations. This is a leadership role with responsibility for coordinating the Association’s U.S. policy strategy, managing day-to-day operations, overseeing PAC and political engagement, and cultivating relationships with both member companies and policymakers. Ideal candidates will bring background as a campaign manager, Hill Chief of Staff, or significant experience leading industry-backed issue campaigns with a reputation for execution, discretion, and leadership in high-stakes policy environments. This position reports to the Vice President, Global Advocacy, and Intelligence.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the Association’s senior-most U.S. government relations staffer, setting priorities and ensuring consistent execution of advocacy strategy.
Lead office operations, budget tracking, and internal coordination for GR events, compliance, and reporting.
Build and maintain relationships with senior officials on Capitol Hill and within the Executive Branch.
Serve as a liaison to member companies and drive engagement in the Association’s public policy agenda.
Lead the Association’s political program, overseeing PAC growth, donor engagement, event planning, and compliance.
Manage and mentor GR staff and coordinate cross-functional support with the Association’s standards, education, and technical departments.
Catalyze Industry Support
Oversee the work of the North American Government Relations Committee, including by recruiting, leading, and inspiring active participation.
Develop in coordination with GR committee members a policy agenda backed by the GR committee.
Schedule, plan, and support GR committee meetings.
Establish policy subcommittees, working groups, or other mechanisms to catalyze industry input, support, and action.
Maintain solid working relationships with member company representatives.
Serve as a key contributor to the successful development of Association member and executive events, with specific responsibility for government relations programming.
Maintain relationships with industry peers and help manage the Association’s participation in North American coalitions.
Manage and Grow the Global Electronics Association Political Action Committee (PAC)
Develop and implement a strategic PAC engagement plan.
Conduct development efforts with members and staff to grow the Association’s PAC.
Oversee outside counsel to manage PAC finances and ensure FEC filings and reports are submitted accurately and on schedule.
Lead U.S. Government Relations Team (including external consultants)
Manage direct reports (~3) and all consultants to achieve strategic goals.
Develop in coordination with GR committee members a policy agenda backed by the GR committee.
Administrative Operations
Develop, plan, and execute the annual USGR budget.
Develop requirements for tools, subscriptions, and consultant services.
Manage the performance of external contracts.
Monitor and proactively manage federal lobbying compliance and reporting requirements related but not limited to the Lobbying Disclosure Act and the Honest Leadership and Open Government Act.
Requirements
10+ years of experience in government, campaigns, or trade association advocacy.
Must have experience working in/with the Electronics Manufacturing industry.
Previous experience as a Chief of Staff, LD, or Campaign Manager strongly preferred.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage cross-cutting priorities, and drive measurable outcomes.
Experience with PAC operations and compliance.
Exceptional political acumen with proven experience identifying political opportunities and executing political campaigns.

The pay range for this position is $250-275K. The Global Electronics Association considers education, experience, internal equity, and other qualifying criteria to determine starting pay rates. In addition to compensation benefits, the GEA offers a variety of health and welfare benefits, based on eligibility, including job status/hours worked each week.
