We represent small and midsize businesses to advocate on Capitol Hill and within federal agencies to improve access to the federal marketplace. Position Summary
MSGI is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Government Relations Coordinator to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional who is passionate about public policy, small business advocacy, and federal government operations. This position will provide critical support to our policy team by tracking legislation, conducting research, attending Hill and agency events, and assisting in client service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and summarize congressional hearings, agency meetings, and policy briefings
Conduct research on legislative, regulatory, and procurement-related issues
Draft memos, meeting summaries, policy briefs, and internal updates
Assist with scheduling, meeting preparation, and follow-up for congressional and agency engagement
Maintain databases, trackers, and stakeholder contact lists
Support internal and client-facing communications and reporting
Help prepare content for coalition meetings, advocacy campaigns, and client updates
Manage and maintain the team’s daily and long-term calendar, and organize and track invitations
Compile briefing materials and conduct duties related to office management
Qualifications
Professional, positive demeanor with strong interpersonal skills
Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks at once
Capable of thriving in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment
Adherence to deadlines
Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated interest in small business and federal contracting policy
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
1–2 years of experience in a policy, government affairs, or public advocacy setting (Hill experience a plus)
Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Experience (Not Required)
Familiarity with the legislative process and federal agency functions (e.g., SBA, GSA, DoD)
Experience with legislative tracking tools
Knowledge of small business or federal contracting policy
