What you’ll do

  • Execute hazard communication for all products in applicable SBU and region, including preparation of Safety Data Sheets and label data.
  • Identify, determine applicability, and communicate potential impact of new raw materials on intermediates and finished products.
  • Monitor, communicate, and implement regulation changes.
  • Register new chemical substances; monitor global chemical inventory status and substance volume tracking.
  • Participate in meetings and support completion of the PSRA checklist.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of products, chemistries, and processes.
  • Lead regional and global product safety and regulatory affairs projects to simplify, harmonize, and streamline processes and procedures.
  • Provide training to customer support functions to facilitate timely responses to basic customer inquiries at the local level.
  • Ensure continuing familiarity with all applicable regulations and toxicological information.

What makes you a good fit

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Industrial Hygiene, Toxicology, Environmental Health and Safety, or other relevant scientific discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the chemical industry.
  • Familiarity with North American industrial and consumer federal and state regulations impacting chemical products (hazard communication standards/GHS classification and SDS authoring, control of toxic substances (TSCA, DSL), consumer product safety).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; presentation skills and experience are desired.
  • Ability to work independently and within a variety of cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, especially Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint; familiarity with SAP EHS is desired.

Compensation

The salary for this role is $70,000.00 – $85,000.00. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This salary range may also be modified in the future.
