Position Overview

Venture Global is seeking a Federal Government Affairs Associate to support legislative strategy, policy advocacy, and stakeholder engagement across multiple client portfolios.

This role offers direct exposure to senior policymakers, congressional staff, executive branch officials, and industry leaders. The Associate will play a meaningful role in advancing national-level legislative and regulatory priorities.

This role provides accelerated exposure to federal legislative strategy, senior decision-makers, and high-impact policy engagement. This position offers a clear pathway into senior legislative strategy, government affairs leadership, and strategic advisory roles.

Location: Washington, DC (Not fully remote)
Reporting to: Vice President, Government Affairs

Job Responsibilities

Legislative Strategy, Policy Analysis & Advocacy

      • Monitor, analyze, and track relevant federal and state legislation, regulations, and administrative actions relevant to client priorities.
      • Prepare legislative summaries, policy briefs, white papers, executive briefing materials and recommend appropriate course of action.
      • Provide strategic analysis of legislative and regulatory developments and their business impact.
      • Support development of policy recommendations, legislative strategy, advocacy plans, and policy positioning.
      • Develop high-quality advocacy materials including fact sheets, talking points, presentations, social media, blogs and other stakeholder communications.

Congressional Engagement & Government Affairs Execution

      • Attend Congressional hearings, markups, and briefings and provide actionable intelligence and analysis.
      • Support outreach, scheduling and engagement with Congressional offices, committees, and relevant federal agencies to advance key priorities.
      • Develop and maintain relationships with Congressional staff and policy stakeholders.
      • Maintain and expand Congressional contact databases aligned with client priorities.
      • Support execution of legislative strategy and advocacy initiatives.

Advocacy Operations & Stakeholder Engagement

      • Support and lead the planning and execution of Congressional briefings, fly-ins, and coalition activities, including coordination, logistics, and operational execution critical to advancing client legislative priorities.
      • Represent clients in coalition meetings and advocacy engagements and provide actionable summaries for senior leadership and clients.
      • Prepare executive-level briefing materials, presentations, and strategic communications.
      • Ensure compliance with all lobbying disclosure and reporting requirements (Venture Global provides outside legal counsel for assistance).

Strategic Communications Support

      • Assist in development of communications materials including policy content, presentations, and digital advocacy content.
      • Support thought leadership initiatives, client advocacy campaigns and new client pitches.
      • Support and strengthen Venture Global’s LinkedIn and professional platform presence in alignment with the firm’s thought leadership and strategic priorities.

Required Skills/Knowledge

      • 2+ years of experience in a Congressional office, Executive Branch agency, government affairs firm, trade association, or corporate government affairs team.
      • Bachelor’s degree in political science, public policy, economics, international relations, or related field.
      • Exceptional writing, analytical, and communication skills.
      • Ability to distill complex legislative and regulatory issues into clear strategic insight and compelling advocacy.
      • Demonstrates meticulous attention to detail and exceptional organizational discipline.
      • Strong ability to manage multiple priorities, prioritize and execute under deadline.
      • Highly self-directed with strong professional judgment and discretion.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Experience

      • Experience working on trade, healthcare, intellectual property, or regulatory policy.
      • Experience engaging with Congressional offices or federal agencies.
      • Exposure to regulated industries or public safety and enforcement issues.

Compensation, Benefits & Career Development

      • Base Salary Range: $50,000–$60,000 per year.
