## Team Penske Overview
Team Penske is one of the most successful teams in the history of professional motorsports. Founded in 1966 by Roger Penske, the organization competes across the highest levels of auto racing including NASCAR, INDYCAR and IMSA. Cars owned and prepared by Team Penske have produced more than 660 major race wins, over 700 pole positions and 48 championships in its 60-year history.
The Team Penske Communications Department is responsible for protecting, elevating and advancing the organization’s brand, drivers, teams and partners through strategic storytelling, proactive media engagement, and consistent messaging across all earned platforms including the team’s owned social and digital channels.
The PR Representative is an experienced communications role designed to support Team Penske across all series in which it competes. This position serves as a key coverage resource capable of driving proactive outreach efforts, maintaining consistent team messaging, executing comprehensive communications plans, and traveling to provide on-site support at race, partner and promotional events.
The role will work closely with all other Team Penske departments, including but not limited to Communications, Partnership Marketing, Branding and Licensing. This job does require travel.

## Responsibilities
– **Communications & PR Coverage** — Provide communications and PR coverage across NASCAR, INDYCAR and IMSA events, as well as other Team Penske programs as needed.
– **Media Coordination** — Serve as a point of contact for media inquiries, interview coordination, and driver/team scheduling.
– **At‑Track PR Operations** — Support at-track PR operations, including media coordination, interview setup, post-race support, and schedule management.
– **Messaging Consistency** — Maintain consistent Team Penske messaging, particularly in response to current events or sensitive situations.
– **Content Development** — Draft press releases, talking points, Q&As, and messaging documents in alignment with organizational priorities.
– **Communications Planning** — Develop and execute comprehensive communications plans for announcements, milestones, and initiatives.
– **Proactive Outreach** — Drive proactive media and partner outreach efforts to elevate the Team Penske brand.
– **Appearance Management** — Support tracking and management of driver, team and organizational appearances, ensuring schedules, commitments and deliverables are accurately documented and aligned across internal stakeholders.
– **Coverage Monitoring** — Monitor coverage, placements, narratives, and participation across Team Penske series to report on past initiatives and refine future communication strategies.
– **Reporting** — Contribute to reporting efforts of ongoing PR activity, producing regular coverage recaps, appearance summaries, and performance insights for internal distribution and leadership review.
– **Stakeholder Engagement** — Engage key stakeholders including sanctioning bodies, series race tracks and other industry personnel to maximize opportunities and raise awareness for team programming and initiatives.
– **Cross‑Department Collaboration** — Collaborate across Team Penske departments including marketing, creative services, partnerships, competition, and leadership to align schedules and strategic direction.
– **On‑Site Event Support** — Serve as an onsite point of contact during event weekends by providing assistance, executing tours, special access points and other partner-related activities.
– **Travel** — Travel as required, including race weekends and related weekday commitments.
– **Additional Duties** — Perform additional duties as assigned in support of the Communications department.

## Requirements
– **Bachelor’s Degree** — Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field; or equivalent experience.
– **Professional Experience** — Minimum of three (3) years of professional PR or communications experience.
– **Motorsports Experience** — Motorsports, sports, or highly visible corporate communications experience preferred.
– **Communication Skills** — Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
– **Organization & Detail** — Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities under deadline.
– **Media Relationships** — Experience working proactively and professionally to build relationships with media journalists and outlets in all formats.
– **Judgment & Discretion** — Sound judgment, discretion, and ability to perform in high-pressure environments.
– **Crisis Communication** — Experience with crisis communication.
– **Digital & Social Knowledge** — Working knowledge of digital and social media strategies and copywriting is preferred.
– **Self‑Starter** — Self-starter who thrives both independently and within a cross-functional team.
– **Weekend & Travel Availability** — Ability to work weekends and travel as required.
