Director, Government & Corporate Affairs

As a member of the North America Government and Corporate Affairs team, the Director of Federal Government Affairs will advance Expedia Group’s mission to power global by engaging government officials to advance our key business and policy priorities. This is a unique opportunity to combine your expertise with the power of Expedia Group and our community partners to protect and grow the travel and tourism sector around the world.

Who You Are:

  • Demonstrated track record of success in developing and executing strategies to secure major policy wins.
  • Strong ability to read, interpret, and communicate public policy language including legislation and administrative regulations
  • 7+ years of experience working for and/or with members of Congress or other senior government officials
  • Pragmatic, results-oriented, capable of working effectively with stakeholders across the political spectrum.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization and external stakeholders.

What You’ll Do:

  • Directly lead efforts to advance Expedia Group’s business and policy priorities in the U.S. at the Federal level, including but not limited to issues related to tax, eCommerce, data privacy, consumer protection, immigration, and Internet content regulation;
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships between Expedia Group and key members of Congress; federal executive branch officials, including at the White House, State Department, and Commerce Department;
  • Leverage these relationships; your expertise in policy and politics; and collaboration with Expedia Group’s Legal, Product, Brand, and other teams to achieve positive policy outcomes in priority areas.
  • Track and keep company leadership and other internal stakeholders informed of relevant policy developments and trends.
  • Provide policy and impact analysis to Legal and Business teams, informing and guiding implementation and compliance discussions
  • Report to Senior Director of Government and Corporate Affairs, North America.

The total cash range for this position in Washington is $221,000.00 to $309,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $353,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role. Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors, including location, available budget, and an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.
