Equifax Workforce Solutions is looking for a Director, Government Relations, to join our team. The Director is responsible for developing, executing, and managing state and local government relations objectives for Equifax Workforce Solutions in several states, including possibly Florida, Michigan, and Ohio (among others).

The successful candidate is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at multitasking and communication, and works well with or without direct supervision.

In this role, you will be responsible for lobbying and outreach to legislators, governors, and state agencies on behalf of Equifax priorities. You will also be accountable for identifying business risks and opportunities and developing strategies to ensure advancement of business priorities and public policy goals. This role will focus on increasing the presence and reputation of Equifax across assigned states while finding strategic alignment among business objectives, government programs, and other trends.

You will be responsible for managing state government relations priorities in the region, providing sound legislative and regulatory advice, collaborating with other directors and business leaders, as well as performing other activities as directed by the Senior Director, Government Relations and VP, EWS Government Relations.

This position could be remote (ideally based in Florida) or potentially in Atlanta, Georgia, or St. Louis, Missouri, where we have Equifax offices. Travel is 25% (or up to 50%) during busy times of the year.

What you’ll do:
Support Equifax Workforce Solutions’ Government business by advocating for, and expanding states’ use of, Equifax products and services, including verifications, credit data, and identity and fraud solutions, through legislative and regulatory engagement.

Build and leverage working relationships with key lawmakers, regulators, and state agencies within the region to create new sales opportunities while also protecting existing contracts.

Identify, track, amend, and manage legislation and regulations that could create value or cause strategic risks to Equifax Workforce Solutions and the broader Equifax Inc. business.

Develop legislative strategies and positions supporting Equifax Inc.’s broader government relations objectives, including developing policy briefing documents, legislative testimony, amendments, comments, and policy white papers (as needed).

Work with colleagues from all areas of the business to identify and pursue ways in which Government Relations can help our business leaders.

What experience you need:
3+ years of relevant experience in state government, government relations, government affairs, or direct lobbying required.

Bachelor’s degree from a 4-year college or university preferred, or equivalent experience will be considered.

Proven track record of government relations accomplishments.

Ability to work with a mostly remote team while staying connected to a broader government relations team.

Strong organizational skills, with excellent follow-through and a positive attitude in a dynamic work environment.
