SUMMARY STATEMENT
The Senior Manager (“Manager”) is responsible for programs and events related to community and donor relations, marketing, media and publicity, and collaborative projects and partnerships. The Manager will take a lead role in developing Kheir’s role and presence in the community, and will raise awareness of Kheir’s services, programs, and accomplishments. This person is responsible for fundraising initiatives and grants management, and supervises development and communications staff. The Manager supports Board affairs, media relations, strategic planning and development.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing, Communications, Public Relations
- Oversee, develop, write and edit content for print and digital materials that show Kheir’s impact, including e-blasts, videos, social media, flyers, brochures, reports, fact sheets, blogs, video scripts, and website content.
- Ensure that Kheir’s social media presence (through Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn and other sites) is relevant, consistent and tailored to engage target populations (donors, supporters, patient/client population, partners, youth, etc.).
- Plan and execute Kheir’s annual Fundraising Dinner, including coordination of awards ceremony, VIP reception, Silent Auction, sponsorship solicitation, logistics, printing, and other details related to the event.
- Oversee press release creation and distribution to ensure consistent messaging and successful media events.
- Manage public relations initiatives and programs to increase Kheir’s visibility, promote collaboration and partnership, and engage new and existing supporters, donors and volunteers.
- Identify new, innovative sources of fundraising revenue and other types of support (volunteer, in-kind donation of products and services, etc.).
- Create and oversee the distribution of materials that show Kheir’s impact in the community (PR videos and photography, donor reports, audience-specific public relations packages & content).
Fundraising & Donor Cultivation
- Maintain and improve donor relations through the coordination of site visits, development of public relations materials (including e-blasts and social media posts), and other strategies to engage existing and potential funders.
- Serve as agency liaison for Kheir’s Board of Directors, and support meeting coordination and other Board engagement efforts.
- Manage Kheir’s section 330 Community Health Center grants, collaborating with other departments to ensure compliance with federal funding requirements, and submit reports and other documents as requested by HRSA.
Administrative
- Directly supervise the External Affairs team, including the Grant Writer and any interns.
- Oversee the Grant Writer’s development and submission of foundation, corporate, and government grant proposals and reports; write selected applications and reports as needed.
- Identify new, innovative sources of fundraising revenue and other types of support (volunteers, young professional engagement, in-kind donation of products and services, etc.).
- Provide support as agency’s point of contact regarding the agency’s affordable housing projects.
- Prepare monthly grant-writing KPIs.
- Other special projects and duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Marketing, English, or related field.
- Minimum 8 to 10-year experience in management.
- Direct supervisory experience of paid employees.
- Well-versed in Microsoft Office platforms, including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, and Publisher.
- Show initiative, be self-motivated, and have a strong work ethic.
- Strong time management skills, including deadline prioritization of multiple projects.
- Skills in needs assessment, project planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Excellent skills in project and event planning, organizing & staff training.
- Strong reading, writing & public speaking skills.
- Is committed to producing accurate and high-quality work.
- Can be trusted to handle confidential and sensitive information.
- Conduct oneself with professionalism in dealing with sensitive and confidential issues.
- Access to reliable transportation and valid driver’s license.
