Position Summary
We’re looking for a creative, hard-working, detail-oriented PAC professional who wants to make a lasting impact on one of the top corporate PACs in the country, while representing Fortune 1 and the nation’s largest private employer.
The Political Programs team at Walmart is focused on improving Walmart’s ability to educate elected officials at the state and federal levels on the issues that impact our customers, associates, and our business. Our primary fundraising initiative is our PAC champions program – a peer-to-peer fundraising campaign that brings store and club associates to DC to learn more about legislation and how it impacts our business…and how the PAC plays a role to support our teams in engaging on those issues. So, our team plays a vital role supporting all aspects of our business – from our PAC Board to operations, legal, communications, state and federal government affairs, and many others.
What you’ll do
- Assist with all aspects of Walmart’s Political Action Committee (WALPAC) program, including fundraising, disbursements, and compliance efforts. Help create internal communication materials for executives on the WALPAC Advisory Board.
- Develop internal communications regarding political or public policy issues to associates outlining congressional engagement on key issues, election info, and GOTV efforts.
- Provide additional support to the corporate contribution process at the state level; monitor, review, and process checks sent to candidates; research contribution details; maintain detailed records of contribution details; determine reporting needs and adjustments to support reporting requirements and compliance.
- Research and analyze WALPAC data to advance the work of our government affairs professionals; support the Federal Government Affairs team’s multi-issue policy portfolio and collaborate with team members to support the development and execution of effective advocacy plans consistent with business objectives.
- Coordinate and support the FGA team on Walmart’s Congressional Facility Tour program with elected officials; represent Walmart at internal and external meetings with key stakeholders; ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and support the company mission, values, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; utilize and support the Open Door Policy; provide direction and guidance on applying these in executing business processes and practices.
What You’ll Bring
- 3-5 years’ experience in PAC management and/or campaign fundraising.
- Well-versed in state and federal election law.
- In-depth understanding of political and legislative processes.
- Teamwork mentality, strong communication skills, and attention to detail.
