### Position Overview

The Manager of Strategic Partnerships plays a key role in developing and implementing government relations strategies to achieve company objectives. The individual develops, executes, and manages Verra Mobility’s relationships with key interests and support business groups at the local level. The Manager will develop key relationships with strategic partners, including local elected and appointed officials. The individual is responsible for coordinating external lobbyist activities, engaging community grassroots organizations, and other critical stakeholder relationships. The individual reports to the Vice President of Government Relations and works alongside a robust team of government relations professionals to implement strategies that advance the goals and objectives of the company in a constantly changing work environment.

### Responsibilities

– Assist the Government Solutions business unit with overall management of the government affairs activities, including development, communication, and execution of policy and business development priorities and strategies.
– Coordinate efforts of outside lobbyists and consultants to ensure objectives are met on time, on budget and with the appropriate level of quality and fastidiousness.
– Maintain strong working relationships with grassroots community organizations and critical stakeholders.
– Identify, analyze, and communicate how potential changes in policy and political environments (both near and long term) could affect day-to-day operational business activities and long-term strategy.
– Operate at a high level of transparency and deliver on key performance indicators.
– Execute on strategies to position business development opportunities for success.
– Partner with the internal legal department to ensure the company is compliant with all state and local registration and lobbying disclosure laws and associated interactions with elected government officials.
– Develop a deep understanding of Verra Mobility’s business lines and the intersection with local stakeholders to identify strategic opportunities and risks, and execute accordingly.
– Monitor state and municipal policy and procurement activity by studying existing and new policy and government processes.
– Serve as a subject matter expert on government/policy matters within the company.

### Qualifications

– A Bachelor’s degree is required. Other advanced degrees are a plus.
– A minimum of 5-8 years of government, legislative affairs, and/or campaign experience with advancing levels of responsibilities and duties.
– Significant level of interpersonal and communication skills, and able to lead, communicate and persuade others, and interact effectively with others in difficult situations.
– An energetic, hands-on, self-motivated, and self-managed person with a high degree of honesty, integrity, and judgment.
– Experience interacting with lobbyists and elected officials is required.
– High-level ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment.
– Management experience is a plus.
– A thorough knowledge of public policy, political campaigns, public affairs, and community outreach, as well as extensive knowledge and experience in Government, the legislative and regulatory process at the state or local levels.
– Ability to develop and implement successful political strategies in the development and execution of Verra Mobility’s agenda.
– Ability to establish and work towards the bigger picture while still grasping the details.
– Strong PC skills especially Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
– Outstanding English, writing, presentation, and public speaking and communication skills, including at the executive level.
– Travel up to 30 percent.
