Organization: TikTok
Location: Washington, DC
Date Posted: 05/29/2025

Responsibilities

About the Team:
The Global Public Policy team’s work spans a broad and diverse range of functions, including government affairs and relations, policy and product expertise, risk and crisis management, stakeholder engagement, coalition-building, and philanthropy. Our mission is to prevent, manage, and mitigate political, legislative, and regulatory threats—and to promote an external environment that enables growth and innovation for our business.

We are looking for a talented, driven, and experienced government relations professional to support our stakeholder engagement strategy in the United States (US). In this role, you will serve as a key liaison to third-party organizations—including trade associations, advocacy groups, and nonprofits—driving engagement with key stakeholders through proactive education, outreach, and partnership efforts. You will play a critical role in advancing our mission by cultivating strong external relationships, representing the company in key forums, and ensuring public policy feedback informs cross-functional initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary liaison for the US Public Policy team’s relationships with third-party organizations, including trade associations, think tanks, advocacy groups, and other nonprofits.
  • Educate key external stakeholders about TikTok—how the platform works, its economic, cultural, and social impact, and how it can be effectively leveraged.
  • Identify, manage, and deepen partnerships with organizations focused on issues such as civil and human rights, online safety, content moderation, privacy, government relations, and civic engagement.
  • Represent TikTok in industry working groups, coalitions, and at relevant conferences and events.
  • Develop and produce informational materials for public policy stakeholders.
  • Share feedback from external stakeholders with cross-functional teams to help inform product and policy development.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in public policy, government relations, or a related field.
  • Deep understanding of tech policy and advocacy ecosystem.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a natural ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Strategic and creative thinker with a proven ability to see the big picture, set goals, and deliver results.
  • Sound judgment, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Self-starter who can independently identify priorities and follow through without constant direction.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with or for nonprofits, government, or political/advocacy organizations.
  • Background in advocacy strategy, persuasion, or coalition-building in complex policy environments.
  • Strong enthusiasm for technology and digital platforms, with a demonstrated ability to adapt to new tools and innovations.
  • Experience working cross-functionally to develop practical tools or operational solutions.
