FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Providing an overview of upcoming and ongoing EU policy and legislation.
- Analyzing, in cooperation with ESET technical and legal teams, the impact of policy and legislation on ESET.
- Managing and mitigating political and regulatory risk at EU level.
- Designing and executing public affairs strategy including timely engagement with KPIs .
- Mapping of and establishing relationships with key policymakers and other stakeholders.
- Drafting of position papers, submissions, responses to stakeholder consultations as well as background briefings and advocacy materials for ESET management.
- Representing ESET in meetings with the EU institutions and other actors.
- • Ensuring ESET’s representation and active contribution to relevant stakeholder associations.
- • Coordinating ESET’s policy position internally, across the national teams in key European and markets, as well as with management.
- Close cooperation with ESET’s events team on events linked to policy and regulatory affairs.
- Close cooperation with ESET’s business team on EU projects and tenders.
- Close cooperation with ESET’s PR & communication team on communication campaigns and strategies.
- Ensuring ESET’s visibility and reputation as a key partner for the EU stakeholders in enhancing Europe’s strategic security and resilience.
- Other tasks as requested.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
- University degree in humanities, economics, political science.
Experience:
- A professional with at least 8 years of experience in an EU public affairs / public policy capacity, with direct experience in the EU institutions a distinct advantage.
- Relevant work experience and sound understanding of cybersecurity, tech, and ICT fields.
- While not a communications or PR role, the candidate should demonstrate understanding of how political communication and working with media affects successful policy outreach.
- Demonstrating business acumen and understanding of the impact of policy and politics on commercial operations, and wide experience of business representation at a senior level.
- An existing network of contacts at the EU level and in Key Markets and being able and keen to expand it.
Knowledge:
- A thorough understanding of the EU processes, with previous involvement in campaigns advocating for changes in the EU legislation and policy.
Language:
- Excellent writing and presentation skills in English.
Communication:
- Strong communication skills, ability to interact with specific groups of people, government institutions, municipalities, etc.
- Ability to negotiate and work effectively with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
- Able to find agreement and to explain goals.
- External communication EU Government Institution members.
- External communication with ESET’s offices and partners.
