Strategic Consultants are responsible for crafting customized solutions for a wide range of clients that can benefit from the Data and Services offered by TargetSmart.  Strategic Consultants work with clients to understand their needs for data strategy and analytics, and to then formulate and execute a project to meet those needs.  Their success relies heavily on their ability to communicate with clients, create a winning strategy and then work with the team to deliver.  Day-to-day, Strategic Consultants primarily work with Analysts and Project Managers to execute project deliverables, work with sales staff to close sales leads, and collaborate with leaders across the company to effectively deploy TargetSmart resources.

Requirements

  • History of leadership in data strategy for advocacy, voter contact, or related programs for Democratic political or non-profit organizations.
  • 5+ years of experience using a wide range of data sets such as voter data, census data, commercial data, or other publicly available data to provide actionable analysis and tools to inform political, advocacy, marketing, or other outreach programs.
  • Proven success in conceptualizing and executing analytics projects based on client, staff or stakeholder needs or specifications on schedule.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, from developing project scope to coordinating with various team members on project tasks and creating final deliverables for clients.
  • Experience creating reporting and dashboard tools for stakeholders to assess the impacts of programs in real-time or glean insights from historical data.
  • Project Management Experience using tools such as JIRA, Asana, Hive, Monday.com etc., to collaborate with team members and track progress from conception to delivery.
  • Ability to effectively manage relationships and communicate with clients and stakeholders.

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:

  • Able to wrangle, analyze and visualize data in standard formats (e.g., delimited text, .csv, etc.)
  • Proficient in at least 1 programming language: SQL, Python, JavaScript, or R
  • Experience with reporting tools such as Looker or Tableau
