### The Opportunity
**Vice President, Government & Regulatory Affairs**
The Vice President Government & Regulatory Affairs develops, directs, executes, and manages UCHealth’s government relations strategy at the federal, state, and local levels. This role oversees the Government Relations department’s engagement with state legislators, other internal and external executives, industry associations, and regulatory agencies. Reporting to the Chief Legal Officer, this position works closely with executives and other senior leaders to develop political and regulatory strategies to advance the goals and objectives of UCHealth. It is responsible for the development and implementation of policy agenda by directing UCHealth policies and objectives involving local, state, and federal government affairs.

### Specific Responsibilities
– Collaborates with executive leadership to determine organizational priorities and goals
– Researches and monitors industrial, professional, and national developments
– Integrates data from multiple sources to support decision-making
– Develops and implements policies and procedures that guide business processes, support the delivery of services, and ensure a culture of quality and satisfaction
– Monitors and evaluates operations to ensure compliance with established professional, regulatory, and organizational standards/requirements
– Leads departmental financial planning to ensure cost-efficient operations and maximize profitability
– Leads the department’s direction and strategic planning to achieve the organization’s mission, directives, and goals
– Manages department staff
– Charts team direction to achieve results
– Promotes UCHealth Standards of Excellence and champions Service Excellence
– Stewards UCHealth resources while driving continuous improvement
– Facilitates the development of others by participating in and promoting staff engagement

### Education/Certification
– Master’s degree in related field
– JD or demonstrated expertise in analysis of legal and regulatory analysis and implementation
– 7-10 years of related management experience
### Qualifications, Skills and Abilities
– Ensure that UCHealth develops, nurtures, and sustains positive relationships with key elected officials, relevant government agencies, including HCPF, CHPHE, and CMS, and other stakeholders that can influence UCHealth’s agenda
– Represent UCHealth to corporations, agencies, and other bodies as necessary and appropriate
– Principal UCHealth liaison to the Colorado Hospital Association’s public policy and legislative committees
– Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive government & regulatory advocacy strategy
– Manage and develop the government relations team
– Identify, analyze, and communicate how potential changes in the legislative, regulatory, policy, and political environments (both near and long term) could affect day-to-day operational business activities and long-term strategy and business opportunities
– Research and monitor industrial, professional, and national developments
– Work with clinical units to evaluate the impact, establish priorities, and develop responses to legislation and regulatory matters
– Identify funding opportunities at local, state, and federal levels for clinical, education, and research programs
– Develop and implement policies and procedures that guide business processes, support the delivery of services, and ensure a culture of quality and satisfaction
– Monitor and evaluate operations to ensure compliance with established professional, regulatory, and organizational standards/requirements
– Collaborate with Marketing and Communications to increase visibility of UCHealth’s policy positions and advocacy activities with internal and external audiences
– Collaborate with executive leadership to determine organizational priorities and goals and to enhance policymakers’ knowledge of UCHealth’s expertise and reach
