The role is responsible for representing 3M’s positions before state and local government; trade associations; national political organizations; and other audiences to advance 3M’s goals of advocating for policies and fostering political relationships that will enable business success. The position requires collaboration with other state and US government affairs team members and 3M’s government affairs team globally, as well as the company’s regulatory, legal, compliance teams, and business and operations executives to help develop and advocate for the company’s positions on state public policy matters. This position also requires close, cross-functional work to coordinate state and federal messaging, lobbying, and outreach.

As a Senior Manager Government Affairs, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

– Representing the company before, interacting with, and lobbying state and local governments in the assigned region.
– Participating in and representing the company’s positions on trade associations such as state Chambers of Commerce, Manufacturing Associations, and other relevant bodies.
– Drafting testimony, responses, comments, and other research when necessary in advancing state and local government affairs agenda.
– Monitoring and reporting on legislative activity in the assigned region and identifying issues of relevance to 3M’s state and local agenda.
– Working cooperatively with internal, cross-functional stakeholders to develop policy positions, develop strategy, and work to advance the agenda at the state and local level.
– Participating in national organizations of Legislators, Governors, Attorneys General, and others to develop and strengthen 3M’s relationships and advance 3M’s legislative agenda.
– Managing consultants and related administrative matters in the assigned region.

#### Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution
– Eight (8) years of combined experience working as a legislative aide at the state level, state employee in a state government department or agency, contract lobbyist, corporate lobbyist, and/or association lobbyist in a private, public, government, or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

– Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
– Ability to work independently

#### Work Location

– Work Your Way Eligible (Employee choice to work remote, on-site, or hybrid)
– Travel: May include up to 20% domestic
– Relocation Assistance: Is not authorized
– Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

#### Compensation and Benefits

Applicable to US Applicants Only: The expected compensation range for this position is $207,348 – $253,425, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for a range of benefits (e.g., Medical, Dental & Vision, Health Savings Accounts, Health Care & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts, Disability Benefits, Life Insurance, Voluntary Benefits, Paid Absences, and Retirement Benefits, etc.).
