Job Profile Title: Sr Director, Global Government Affairs, Advocacy and Policy

Position Overview:
The position is responsible for timely and proactively determining the short and long-term impact of changes in the healthcare system and corresponding public policy (international, US federal, and state) issues affecting diabetes treatment and care in the health ecosystems of the US and key ex-US regions critical for Insulet’s short-term and long-term success.
This role will provide strategic insights on the pulse of the diabetes patient populations and ensure strong collaborations with US-focused and international/global healthcare professional and patient diabetes advocacy groups. This role will further develop and expand advocacy and policy strategies and execute diabetes-specific advocacy and policy plans with a US and global scope.
Responsibilities
- Direct the gathering and synthesis of actionable insights on US and global policy and broader health ecosystem issues affecting diabetes care, in collaboration with US and international internal stakeholders and external partners. Identify and communicate healthcare US and global quality issues for diabetes care priorities to appropriate internal and external stakeholders. As part of this, stay current with relevant information and resources regarding industry and key US and ex-US healthcare legislation.
- Work closely with the commercial and other stakeholder teams and counterparts at these levels to drive the linkage of the above-mentioned insights and issues to broader strategic US and global business needs.
- Collaborate with the global and regional matrix team (e.g., marketing, medical, value and access, ESG worldwide) to drive the building of alignment, completion of deliverables, and, eventually, the development of a cross-functional business position and multi-disciplinary strategies and tactics to address business issues/needs with a focus on policy and quality of diabetes treatment and care in the US and globally. Drive the development and execution of external policy positions, strategies, and contingency plans in accordance with these strategies and tactics.
- Develop and foster relationships at senior influencer/stakeholder level with relevant US-focused and global policy-shaping and setting organizations (including industry associations like AdvaMed), patient advocacy and professional medical/nursing/pharmacy societies with a primary focus on issues affecting patient/physician dialogue and access to quality diabetes treatment and care in the US and globally. Leverage these relationships to enable the execution of our cross-functional external engagement strategies.
- Ensure appropriate exposure of information is communicated to internal and external audiences. Responsible for timely and strategically (co-)developing and preparing internal updates and executive-level engagements and presentations at US and international/global policy fora (including industry associations), in collaboration with key internal global, US, and international market stakeholders.
- Perform other duties as required.

Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in life/health sciences or related discipline, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s Degree preferred.
- Minimum of 12 years of life science industry experience preferred with an emphasis on developing third-party relationships and understanding healthcare policy issues. Experience on both the Sponsor/Manufacturer/industry association and governmental/Not-for-profit side preferred.
- Strong preference for past or present leadership experience and established track record of engagement across the US and ideally international diabetes community, either as part of an NGO (professional body or advocacy organization), an industry group, and/or a healthcare company.
- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of the US and international healthcare delivery systems; their changing direction, and the positioning of various constituencies within these systems.
- Demonstrated understanding of advocacy and the public policy arena and its impact on healthcare delivery within the medical device/pharmaceutical industry.
Additional Information
- The position will be US-based and can be remote, hybrid, or in-person at our office in Acton, MA, or San Diego, CA.
- Travel is estimated at 25% but will flex depending on business need.
- NOTE: This position is eligible for 100% remote working arrangements (may work from home/virtually 100%; may also work hybrid on-site/virtual as desired). #LI-Remote
Additional Information:
- The US base salary range for this full-time position is $198,300.00 – $297,900.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
