Job Description

The Political Program Supervisor will play a crucial role in supporting McDonald’s Federal Government Relations and Global Policy team by developing and implementing Political Action Committee (PAC) and grassroots engagement programs. This position will oversee all aspects of PAC management, including strategy development, fundraising efforts, and targeted contributions, while also encouraging and coordinating political involvement across the company. The Political Program Supervisor will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, build relationships with campaigns and party organizations, and organize PAC fundraising events to support McDonald’s advocacy priorities.

In addition to PAC and grassroots management, the Political Program Supervisor will provide day-to-day management of a government relations committee composed of McDonald’s franchisees. This role will also be responsible for tracking and reporting on program outcomes, preparing communications and briefing materials, and assisting with budget oversight to ensure effective resource use. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in politics, communications, project management, and relationship-building, with the potential for growth within the team.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations and accounting of the Political Action Committee (McDonald’s PAC) by raising funds, processing PAC contributions and receipts, and dispersing funds after approval from the PAC Committee. Develop and implement creative marketing strategies to drive PAC membership growth and increase fundraising receipts for the McDonald’s PAC.
  • Develop and implement a multi-year fundraising, marketing, and communications plan, including strategies, tactics, goals/benchmarks, and budget, focused on retaining and increasing contributions from current donors and expanding the number of donors to McDonald’s PAC.
  • Track all PAC contribution requests and maintain up-to-date records on donations to ensure alignment with PAC contribution strategy.
  • Staff the political action committee, develop presentations for the committee, prepare communications including the annual report and solicitations, and implement techniques to expand and improve the political action committee.
  • Provide ongoing customer service to McDonald’s PAC members. Manage relationships with fundraising and compliance vendors.
  • Plan and support PAC events and manage political event calendar, both in D.C. and locally in districts. Work with the U.S. Government Affairs Manager and state team to coordinate attendance at fundraisers.
  • Assist outside counsel in producing and filing monthly and quarterly Federal Election Commission reports. Ensure compliance with all federal requirements relative to political action committees, including laws regarding disclosure and tracking of contributions. Prepare and submit reports for corporate stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Staff and support the monthly government relations Owner/Operator committee meetings, including scheduling the meetings, drafting the agenda, meeting materials, and needed follow-up.
  • Connect with fundraising professionals from other organizations to share ideas, benchmark successful practices, and bring fresh insights into McDonald’s PAC strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations, Communications, or a related field with three to five years’ experience.
  • Strong political acumen and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Prior experience in PAC Administration, including disbursements and compliance, is preferred.
  • Must be resourceful and customer service-oriented with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • The ability to work independently and cross-functionally to run multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Can plan, create, edit, and publish engaging content for internal audiences.
  • Must be driven by ownership culture, entrepreneurial spirit, and can-do attitude. Self-starter, creative thinker, excellent listener.
  • The ability to adapt and work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
