## Policy Director – Center Forward
The Center Forward Policy Director leads the organization’s policy portfolios, which include a range of issues, among them energy, financial services, healthcare, innovation, and trade.
This role is responsible for identifying and addressing programming opportunities and educational material, while building and leveraging strong relationships with Center Forward stakeholders and policy thought leaders on Capitol Hill. The Policy Director will also manage Center Forward’s legislative tracking to ensure timely, strategic insights that guide the organization’s priorities and engagement. This role focuses extensively on policy education, events, programming, and stakeholder management.

## Primary Responsibilities
– **Supervise policy staff** — Serve as direct supervisor to all policy track program managers and coordinators; oversee day‑to‑day operations, troubleshoot challenges, host regular check‑ins, edit and approve communication materials, conduct reviews, manage budgets, and more
– **Manage programming** — Organize and execute programming for individual policy tracks when the primary staff role is vacant
– **Track legislative successes** — Establish a mechanism to more closely track legislative successes resulting from Center Forward’s work
– **Forecast legislative activity** — Serve as the forecaster of legislative activity to help direct CF programming, including major reauthorization bills
– **Monitor federal legislation** — Build a working knowledge of existing and upcoming federal legislation across issue areas and advise the team and leadership as needed
– **Coordinate with team leads** — Serve as primary liaison with other team leads to coordinate programming and outreach
– **Develop policy materials** — Lead conception, drafting, and editing of issue briefs, long‑form papers, policy memos, and educational materials
– **Maintain situational awareness** — Track congressional activity, major policy debates, and emerging trends relevant to stakeholders
– **Build bipartisan relationships** — Maintain strong relationships with congressional offices, committees, industry partners, trade associations, and thought leaders
– **Represent Center Forward** — Participate in meetings, briefings, conferences, and stakeholder discussions
– **Align policy with strategy** — Work with the CEO, Executive Director, Advisory Board, and communications team
– **Support congressional programming** — Assist with staff delegations, roundtables, and educational programming
– **Provide policy context for fundraising** — Support membership engagement and programming value
– **Collaborate with bipartisan groups** — Participate in panels, coordinate strategy, and align efforts
– **Interpret legislative nuances** — Understand stakeholder positions to prevent internal conflicts in programming and materials
