**Policy & Regulatory Affairs Manager**
**Hybrid in Washington, D.C.**

**Where You’ll Work**
This position is based in our Washington, D.C. office. We leverage a hybrid working model: three days in the office, two days optional remote work.
**What You’ll Do**
This position will manage significant health policy analysis for Children’s Hospital Association’s (CHA) advocacy work, including planning, organizing, and providing policy analysis to influence the federal Administration on priority issues, and policy support for legislative advocacy, including outlining policy options and solutions to benefit children and children’s hospitals.
– **Federal policy influence** — Lead efforts to influence federal policies and programs in assigned issue areas with HHS and other relevant federal agencies to support children’s health and children’s hospitals. Examples include private insurance coverage for children, price transparency and hospital finance issues, pediatric disaster preparedness and pediatric research, and support for state affairs priorities.
– **Regulatory strategy** — Develop proactive advocacy strategies to advance CHA regulatory priorities; monitor, analyze, and respond to regulatory guidance and administrative activities relevant to children’s hospitals and children’s health.
– **Drafting comments** — Draft comments incorporating children’s hospitals’ feedback/data and internal CHA expertise; outline relevant policy alternatives, collaborating with allied organizations as appropriate.
– **Policy advising** — Serve as a policy advisor providing significant policy support to the CHA federal affairs team; lead responses to congressional requests for information.
– **Legislative coordination** — Work with federal affairs to outline policy options, solutions, and impact information for Hill offices.
– **Stakeholder partnerships** — Develop and maintain partnerships with HHS staff, other federal agencies, and experts on priority policy issues.
– **Internal collaboration** — Interact with internal CHA departments to raise visibility of assigned policy issues and represent CHA at external meetings.
– **Technical assistance** — Provide technical assistance and policy analysis support directly to children’s hospitals.
**What You’ll Bring to CHA**
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying:
– **Bachelor’s degree** in health policy, public policy, or related field required; master’s degree preferred.
– **5+ years experience** in a health care policy‑related field required.
– **Government or legislative experience** desired.
– **Health policy expertise**, preferably related to insurance coverage, health information technology, and hospital pricing issues.
– **External representation** experience in coalitions and similar settings.
– **Communication skills** with senior health policy professionals, written and verbal.
– **Analytical skills** to synthesize complex information and understand differing policy perspectives.
– **Project management** skills with the ability to meet multiple deadlines.
– **Teamwork and independence** in coordinating information and activities.
– **Executive presence** including presentations, critical thinking, and communicating complex policy issues.

**More About CHA**
The pay range shown is a guideline. Min: $94,000 — Max: $160,000. Compensation is based on qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
