**Position:** Filling Compliance Analyst
**Department:** Regulatory & Government Affairs
**Reports To:** Manager of Regulatory & Government Affairs
**Position Summary:**
The purpose of this position is to coordinate and execute the daily operations of programs to manage compliance risk and ensure regulatory compliance with state and federal insurance laws on a corporate and departmental basis.

## Essential Functions and Responsibilities
– Perform office work directly related to management and regulatory compliance operations of the department and employer’s customers.
– Exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.
– Develop, implement, and administer quality management programs to manage compliance risk and ensure regulatory compliance with state and federal insurance laws on a corporate and departmental basis.
– Circulate, monitor, and track compliance/regulatory literature and/or actionable items to appropriate areas as required.
– Provide status reports on regulatory compliance to the Regulatory AVP & Corporate Secretary at least every other week, and monthly status reports to Senior Management.
– Research and review state and federal legislation and regulations to provide summaries, in‑depth analysis, and evaluation of impacts on PLM products and administrative procedures.
– Attend industry societal meetings or seminars to stay abreast of regulatory compliance matters. Prepare and provide summary documents and/or presentations to management (e.g., Terrorism, Privacy, Producer Compensation, Asbestos). Monitor current and developing federal/national regulatory actions to ensure PLM is compliant and prepared.
– Act as liaison between the company and state insurance departments during discussions and negotiations related to compliance matters and/or rate, rule, and form filings.
**9. Develop, assemble, file required information, and negotiate to obtain approval for:**
a. Independently filed programs
b. Deviations from ISO or other bureau filings
c. Loss costs
d. New states
e. Recoupment
**10.** Interface with state regulators.
**11.** Handle all regular rates, rules, and form filings with state DOIs.
**12.** Maintain records of the status of all filings.

## Internal Department Audits
Identify compliance requirements on a departmental basis through:
– Review of state and federal regulations/requirements
– Review of market conduct exams
– Research
– Interviews with departments or external auditors
– Maintaining contact with societal organizations/third‑party vendors
– Implementing other resources and tools
– Performing self‑audits and identifying issues
– Outlining and developing corrective actions
– Taking corrective actions
– Following up, monitoring, and reporting
**14.** Coordinate and work as a team member with the Regulatory Manager and departmental staff.
**15.** Assist in priority projects within the department.
**16.** Communicate with Information Systems and other departments regarding programming changes necessary for updating systems to comply with filed program changes and state insurance statutes and regulations.
**17.** Assist AVP/Regulatory Manager/Corporate Secretary in Board and Annual Meeting duties as required.
**18.** Organize and complete special projects as assigned.
