Position Summary

This position will advocate before the executive and legislative branches of the federal government on behalf of a leading global cargo airline. This role will serve as a key member of the Global Government Relations team, which represents the Company before Congress, regulators, international policymakers, state and local governments, and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will help shape and execute advocacy strategies on a broad range of corporate issues with a focus on transportation and environmental policy. The ideal candidate will bring strong Capitol Hill relationships and deep experience navigating complex legislative and political environments.

Federal Advocacy & Lobbying

  • Educates policymakers on key Company initiatives and general corporate matters.
  • Track, analyze, and influence bills, hearings, amendments, and appropriations relevant to Atlas, primarily including aviation and climate policy, as well as tax, energy, security, workforce development, and occasional hub‑specific matters.
  • Provides timely analysis to Global Government Affairs colleagues on federal policy developments.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with congressional offices, committee staff, and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate internally with internal teams to ensure integrated advocacy strategies.
  • Draft policy materials including analyses, briefing materials, testimony, correspondence, legislation, and strategic communications for Congress and federal agencies.
  • Promote Atlas Air’s brand with stakeholders and support awareness of the Company’s community affairs and philanthropic efforts.
  • Support PAC outreach including briefings and monthly communication.
  • Represent the company in association meetings, stakeholder discussions, and external events.

Qualifications

  • 10 years of relevant experience with a strong understanding of the U.S. Congress, executive branch, PAC, and trade association landscape. Capitol Hill experience strongly preferred.
  • Ability to work bi‑partisanly and interact professionally with senior government officials and staffers from diverse backgrounds.
  • Deep understanding of the aviation industry and experience with administrative agencies.
  • Experience preparing executives for public and private engagements on high‑level issues.
  • Demonstrated advocacy creativity using a range of tools and tactics to influence policy outcomes.

  • Superior time‑management with the ability to manage multiple workflows under tight deadlines.

Competitive compensation will be offered based on a variety of factors, including a candidate’s experience, skills, education, geographic location, internal equity, and other considerations. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, an employee assistance program, generous paid time off, and 401(k) contributions as part of the total compensation package.

Pay Range

$199,500 – $234,000 USD
