## **Position Overview**

The Director, Corporate & Foundation Relations is responsible for developing and advancing a strategic revenue partnership portfolio that supports the National Alliance for Caregiving’s mission, organizational sustainability, and long‑term growth. NAC is a $4 million+ organization experiencing rapid growth, with an annual goal of contributed and sponsorship funds of at least $2.5 million, and membership revenues of at least $1 million.

Reporting to the Chief External Affairs Officer with a dotted‑line report to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director serves as the primary relationship manager for a portfolio of national partners and funders, aligning organizational priorities with partner interests to generate meaningful, mission‑driven investments. The Director will work closely with leadership and project teams to secure new funding, strengthen existing partnerships, and develop integrated engagement strategies that increase annual revenue and deepen stakeholder commitment across the organization.

The ideal candidate is a strategic development professional with experience building external partnerships for a mission‑driven organization, translating organizational priorities into compelling funding opportunities, and driving sustainable revenue growth in a nonprofit environment. This position may be remote or based in Washington, DC. Some travel required.

## **Key Responsibilities**

### **Strategic Partnerships**
– Cultivate and steward corporate and foundation partnerships that generate revenue and advance NAC’s mission.
– Serve as the primary relationship manager for key national partners, ensuring strong alignment between organizational priorities and partner investments.
– Create customized engagement opportunities that deepen partner involvement beyond transactional sponsorships.
– Partner with the leadership team to develop and execute annual development strategy.
– Work collaboratively across the organization to support the development of proposals that reflect partner priorities and submission needs.

### **Revenue Growth and Fund Development**
– Identify, qualify, and pursue new partnerships and funding opportunities to diversify and strengthen NAC’s revenue portfolio.
– Identify, cultivate, and manage prospective corporate sponsors, foundation funders, and institutional partners from initial outreach through funding and renewal.
– Lead outreach and pitches in collaboration with leadership and program staff.
– Support annual fundraising initiatives, including board engagement and donor campaigns.
– Negotiate funding agreements across partners and opportunities.
– Work collaboratively with the Communications Department to create materials that communicate impact, urgency, and clear value propositions.

### **Member Engagement**
– Manage a comprehensive Membership Program, working collaboratively across departments to create value.
– Oversee and manage annual renewal and retention strategies for current members and new member recruitment; oversee annual dues renewal process with the Development Associate.
– Coordinate the development of compelling membership recruitment and renewal materials.
– Oversee accurate partner records, revenue forecasting, and reporting through CRM systems, collaborating across Development and Operations.

### **Management and Operations**
– Establish, maintain, and iterate the department’s standard operating procedures for sponsorship and grant submissions.
– Oversee Salesforce database in partnership with the Development Operations Associate and COO.
– Supervise and mentor the Development Operations Associate.

## **Required Qualifications**

### **Education and Experience**
– Bachelor’s degree required; 5–7 years of experience or equivalent demonstrated success in securing grants or sponsorships.
– Demonstrated success building and managing corporate, foundation, and/or institutional partnerships, including sponsorships, membership, or donor engagement.
– Proven ability to secure and manage $10,000+ corporate sponsorships or institutional gifts, with experience cultivating long‑term funding relationships.
– Strong track record managing the full lifecycle of funding relationships, including prospecting, proposal development, stewardship, and renewal.
– Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with experience developing compelling proposals and executive‑facing communications.
– Self‑starter who thrives in a collaborative, fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment.
– Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
– Detail‑oriented with consistent follow‑through on opportunities, deliverables, and partner commitments.
– Familiarity with Salesforce for pipeline and relationship management.
– Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Microsoft Teams, Asana, or similar tools preferred.

## **Compensation and Benefits**
– **Annual Salary:** $95,000 – $105,000 depending on experience
– **TIAA 403(b) Retirement:** Quarterly contributions to a 403(b) retirement plan; no match required
