#### Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Legislative Affairs to join the Global Kratom Coalition team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in government affairs, with specific expertise in regulated consumer products or dietary supplements. Additionally, the candidate should possess strategic communications experience to effectively advocate for our organization’s mission and initiatives.

#### Key Responsibilities

– Develop and implement legislative strategies to advance the organization’s goals.
– Monitor, analyze, and report on legislative and regulatory developments affecting regulated consumer products or dietary supplements.
– Establish and maintain relationships with key legislators, government officials, and industry stakeholders.
– Advocate for the organization’s positions on policy issues through direct lobbying, testimony, and coalition-building.
– Collaborate with internal teams to align legislative strategies with organizational objectives.
– Prepare and present detailed reports, briefings, and presentations to senior leadership and stakeholders.
– Coordinate and manage grassroots advocacy efforts to engage and mobilize supporters.
– Lead and participate in strategic communications efforts, including media relations and public outreach, to promote the organization’s policy positions.
– Ensure compliance with all lobbying and ethics regulations.

#### Qualifications

– Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Law, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
– Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in government affairs, with a focus on regulated consumer products or dietary supplements.
– Proven track record in legislative advocacy and policy analysis.
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex information to diverse audiences.
– Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
– Demonstrated experience in strategic communications, including media relations and public outreach.
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
– High ethical standards and a commitment to the organization’s mission.

#### Preferred Skills

– Established network of contacts within the legislative and regulatory community.
– Experience with grassroots advocacy and coalition-building.
– Familiarity with non-profit operations and advocacy work.
– Proficiency in using legislative tracking and analysis tools.
