General Duties:

Serves as a liaison between the organization and the public.

  • Be a point of contact (under direction of the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Director) for all media and investor inquiries, working closely with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and other subject matter experts.
  • Provide media training for subject matter experts and product managers as appropriate.
  • Develops and maintains a positive public image for the organization through public-facing communication.
  • Writes, reviews, and/or distributes press releases and other public-facing communication.
  • Plan and execute a comprehensive internal and external communications strategy to support overall business objectives.
  • Maintain and develop media and industry analyst relations.
  • Conduct proactive media outreach and story development with targeted media.
  • Coordinate communication plans with other teams, including events, digital, and social marketing.
  • Establishes and maintains positive relationships with media outlets, consumers, government employees, and public interest groups.
  • Arranges interviews for the company’s executives and management.
  • Evaluates advertising campaigns to ensure consistency with the organization’s public relations strategy.
  • Develops and/or executes social media and content strategies to release information on the organization in a manner that will promote a positive public image.
  • May assist with regulatory and regulatory compliance training.

ESG Strategy & Reporting:

  • Refine and communicate CJ Bio America’s ESG strategy and objectives in conjunction with Company Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Values, and Vision.
  • Communicate ESG progress through Proxy, website, social media, and other communication channels as appropriate.
  • Assist in gathering and analyzing all ESG reporting (e.g., Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS), Sustainalytics, and other ESG reporting).

Investor Relations:

  • Assist in developing ongoing relationships and communications to keep investors well-informed on company progress and milestones.
  • Research and develop content and positioning materials and presentations in preparation for targeted investor conferences and other thought leadership venues.
  • Ensure all communications and reporting are efficient and consistent, enabling transparency to the extent allowed in compliance with securities regulations.

Government Relations:

  • Oversee and solicit funding for our Political Action Committee (PAC).
  • Research and promote legislative efforts that are beneficial to the company and our efforts in feed safety, recycling, and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Product Marketing on positioning and messaging targeting government and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) as appropriate.
  • Stay current on existing and proposed legislation, meeting with local, state, and federal government officials and lobbyists as appropriate, and updating management on relevant laws and regulations that impact our business.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Ability to participate in a high-performance, team-based environment that is fast-learning and adaptive.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and participate in a continuous improvement culture, including utilizing problem-solving skills.
  • Work in a safe manner.
  • Computer skills, i.e., Microsoft Excel.
  • Critical thinking, multi-tasking, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing, Environmental, Health, Safety (EHS), Regulatory Affairs, and ESG best practices is preferred.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM, however, business needs may require additional hours worked.
  • Some domestic travel is expected for this position.
  • Ability to remain in a stationary position up to 85% of the shift.
  • Ability to ascend/descend stairs if necessary.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • This position does not supervise the work of others.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree & 2 years of directly related work experience
OR
Associate’s Degree & 4 years of directly related work experience
OR
High School Diploma/GED & 6 years of directly related experience
AND

  • Previous external relations experience is preferred.
