Qualifications

Must possess a bachelor’s degree in a related field or have a minimum of 3 years of experience in government relations, PAC management, compliance, or fundraising. Strong written and presentation skills are necessary.

Position Description Objectives

Responsible for all matters related to BOMAPAC, including supporting PAC growth, state and federal PAC compliance reports and budgets, working with the VP on strategic allocation plans and political fundraising events. Additionally, the position will be responsible for managing and growing member grassroots to support the advocacy efforts. Familiarity with Quorum PAC Manager preferred.

Roles and Responsibilities

PAC Manager

  1. Maintain BOMAPAC records, process contributions, and prepare federal compliance reports.
  2. In collaboration with the Vice President, create and implement strategic plans to increase PAC participation, including with local associations.
  3. Conduct solicitation campaigns and manage PAC fundraising efforts at BOMA’s conferences.
  4. Assist local associations with planning fundraising events.
  5. Manage and work with marketing to update BOMA’s PAC website, including the creation of PAC documents and brochures.
  6. Serve as the main point of contact for internal and external communication for BOMAPAC.
  7. Represent the association at industry/PAC events and develop relationships with industry peers and stakeholders.
  8. In consultation with department peers, develop PAC plans for distributions.
  9. Travel up to 10% in support of BOMAPAC activities.

Grassroots

  1. Identify Members of Congress for grassroots members to contact on specific issues.
  2. Work with local BOMA Association Executives to develop materials to enhance grassroots engagement.
  3. Maintain the advocacy/codes group files for correspondence, listservs, and other functions.
  4. Coordinate fly-in in conjunction with BOMA’s National Issues Conference.
  5. Author quarterly BOMAPAC newsletter, annual report, and pre- and post-election materials.
  6. File reports with the Federal Election Commission and Congress.
  7. Coordinate distribution of the annual Issues Report.
  8. Assist in the preparation of legislative alerts and other grassroots activities.
  9. Assist the Advocacy/Codes division in processing invoices and vendor requests.
  10. Assist in the preparation for BOMA meetings and serve as a staff liaison to various committees including BOMAPAC Council and Emergency Preparedness.
  11. Respond to member requests.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

Relationships

Responsibilities require a close working relationship with all staff. The Government Affairs and PAC Manager interacts with BOMA members, local BOMA association leadership, other real estate association staff, and congressional/federal officials and employees.

Location

BOMA is located in Washington, D.C. and operates on a hybrid work schedule with the team in-office three days a week. Given the collaborative nature of this position, we are only considering candidates who are in or willing to relocate to the Washington, D.C. area. In addition, there will be an occasional need to work additional days in the office with limited advance notice.

Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $60,000 to $70,000 annually. Additionally, BOMA provides a comprehensive benefits package including, but not limited to:
