### Summary of Position

As a member of our Government Relations department, you will be joining a team that advocates on behalf of NRECA members on federal legislative and regulatory matters and in national policy forums. We develop and train our grassroots to impact policies at the federal, state, and local levels.

We are looking for a talented individual to serve as the organization-wide expert and leader of America’s Electric Cooperative PAC. This role oversees the overall fundraising and disbursement strategy for America’s Electric Cooperatives Political Action Committee (PAC), as well as voter registration and get-out-the-vote activities through Co-ops Vote, focusing on increasing voter participation and engagement through the Co-ops Vote program. This is an onsite position located in Arlington, VA.

### Key Responsibilities

– Directs and manages day-to-day operations of America’s Electric Cooperative PAC, including ownership of budget and financial tracking, reporting to management on performance, and advising staff and membership.
– Builds annual and long-term strategic plans for the PAC in collaboration with partners in Legislative Affairs; sets growth targets.
– Drives, tracks, and reports progress against strategic goals of the PAC.
– Designs and drives PAC solicitation campaigns, membership outreach, and communications.
– Leads planning and implementation of new PAC programs and PAC systems changes.
– Leads the Co-ops Vote program by administering and advising on voter registration programs.
– Updates the voter registration toolkit annually or with each legislative cycle.
– Maintains the Co-ops Vote website and oversees updates, as needed.

### Qualifications

#### Required Qualifications and Skills

– Bachelor’s degree in political science, government, communications, or related field.
– 7+ years of experience in issue advocacy and political engagement programs. PAC management experience required. Capitol Hill or political campaign experience preferred.
– Knowledge of political engagement programs including but not limited to grassroots, grasstops, and political action committees.
– Ability to quickly develop a thorough understanding of complex topics related to issue advocacy.
– Ability to perform and work on multiple tasks while being flexible and able to cope with change in a fast-paced and sometimes intense working environment, while staying productive and maintaining a high level of accuracy.
– Ability to identify, build, and lead cross-functional teams across NRECA in support of advocacy goals.
– Interpersonal skills, member service orientation, and ability to work in a team environment.
– Ability to be persuasive and collaborate with individuals at all levels inside and outside of the organization.
– Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, with a diverse membership, employees, and/or vendors in a clear and precise manner.

### Essential Physical Requirements

– The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal and extensive reading.
– Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
