What You’ll Be Doing…
Verizon is seeking an experienced and talented spectrum policy professional to join its Federal Regulatory group to advance Verizon’s interest in obtaining access to commercial spectrum. Responsibilities of the position include:
- Working with the business and policy teams to develop and advocate positions that advance the company’s interest in commercial spectrum before the FCC, NTIA, the Department of Defense, and other federal agencies. This will involve developing and handling complex technical and economic issues.
- Engaging with federal users and regulators of spectrum, including the Department of Defense, NTIA, and the FCC, on spectrum studies and other interagency activity affecting the repurposing of spectrum for commercial use.
- Advocating the company’s positions in proceedings before the Federal Communications Commission and in discussions and interactions with other relevant federal agencies, including NTIA and the Department of Defense.
- Developing and maintaining productive relationships with external stakeholders, including government users of spectrum, regulatory bodies, standards-setting bodies, trade groups, and other third parties.
- Providing support to the legislative team in advocating on legislation with potential impact on Verizon’s access to spectrum.
- Assisting in the formulation of business and regulatory solutions to problems that expose the company to risk.
What We’re Looking For…
You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant work experience.
- Experience working on spectrum policy issues at relevant government agencies or with federal users of spectrum, especially the Department of Defense, NTIA, or the FCC.
- Excellent writing and oral advocacy skills.
- Ability to understand and communicate complex technical and economic issues.
- Experience dealing with decision-makers and third-party constituencies.
Even better if you have:
- Familiarity with RF network architecture, engineering, and operations and/or spectrum policy issues.
- Familiarity with interagency processes related to spectrum management.
Where You’ll Be Working
In this hybrid role, you’ll have a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum of eight assigned office days per month, which will be set by your manager.

If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maryland, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island, Washington or Washington, D.C. work location, the compensation range for this position is between $195,000.00 and $363,000.00 annually based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
